What does this connector do?

I have the same lonely connector, but I haven't been able to take a look yet due to the raging blizzard in Wisconsin, but it would make most sense to me if it were for the washer fluid level. If it gets below a certain point an idiot light turns on. This option just wasn't on the Protege, but probably was an option on the all too similar 626.

Also, I have an 03 with fogs. Not for the fogs, that harness is on the other side.
 
Appreciate the feedback, and sorry for the stars, I was posting from photobucket and didn't feel like editing the image on my hdd so I used their photo editing and that was the best they had.
Not for the fogs and my wiper fluid still sprays so maybe it is not for anything

correct me if I'm wrong, but I see 2 conductors... and what would you be testing for ground... seeing as by very nature... the ground is common throughout the entire car.

you either are or are not grounded, what would you test?
 
^I have no idea.... I'm justy looking at the wire diagrams and see connector in that area on the grounding schematic. My car is up on my hoist, I might just have to take a look now, its kinda buging me....
 
Ok so I think I have figured it out. The rear harness (injector, coil, VTCS, etc) on our cars currently have the A/c and PS pressure sensor connectors in that one.

BUT there must be another rear harness that does not have that those connectors or they just updated the rear harness and that connector is another location for those wires to go to. Maybe it was the original place, but because of a problem they had to redo the rear harness to include these. OR the front harness is off of another model..... Most likely at the ecu those are not connected and the ones that are in the current rear harness are.....

Looking at the diagrams this there is 2 locations for the PS pressure switch, one on the rear(B2-26) and one on the front (X-02)
They don't even list a connection for the compessor clutch but thats the other wire.....

You dont have the idiot light? Mine does... Then again I also have DRL's ;)
 
the protege5 has a washer fluid level sensor, but the sedan does not- thus, a bare connector.

this is too simple! it must be something really COMPLICATED! Hmmm.... maybe when energized with the right potential the MSP turns into one of the unfound Transformers! Ha YES! perfect!


or it really could be just the washer fluid level. who knows...
