On a serious note, you guys know your tach is off right? 6750 on the cluster tach is really 6500.

I never realy noticed and I have the scanner plugged in a lot of the time.

It feels like mine slows down or is holding back if I dont shift by 6200 or so. So i dont know why anyone would shift at or after 6500.... What do you guys have your RPM's at when u are launching it? I was told 6000... U agree??

I launch at 900rpms.. pretty much all the time

still was enough to kick the ass of a celica GTS up to 55mph (don't wanna speed lawl) this afternoon.

i just go out and give her, Nissan Sentra SE-R's have some bite but i kicked it's ass by riding the cluth, believe me, it hurt me on the inside, and then i've done some rolling starts in third gear against some Mustang GT's and kicked they're asses too, i love the look on they're faces after a Protege wins

oh man that kills me too... that is soooooo bad for your clutch though. i did it a while back REAL bad against an rx-7, and the car smelled like burnt clutch for the rest of the day (if i never have to smell that awefulness again, i wouldn't miss it). I like the ~3k launch. Anyone ever give a 2nd gear launch??

as for shifting, i definitely go to redline. Since i put my unichip in, the car feels like it has some crazy ****** VTEC as soon as i pass 5000 rpms. It's retarded-fast up to redline. (thumb)

Yea man it hurts, but i had too, those SE-R's have alot of torque, we did three runs, the first one he won cause my tires wouldnt stop peelin, the second i barely won but still peeled the wheels, then the third i rode the clutch slightly, no tire peel and won by like 5 lenths, launching off second feels badass, it just throws me back in my seat
