What do you dislike most about your Speed 3?

Auto-Up/Down is a nice feature, but it is not meant to last forever. Meaning, it will eventually have problems. Door motors are extremely powerful and most auto up/down's pull the window down a smidge too far or a smidge too high, stressing the motor every time at that last inch. I've seen a few go out on people who use that always. Just a little head's up.

After rolling my window down half way..all windows as a matter of fact, I can grasp the top of window and pull up and down. Seems kind of a sloppy fit. Also there's a loud clunk when rolling down from fully closed.

I've noticed that my driver's side window makes a loud clunk when I close it all the way. Bad fitment.

Mine clunk and alre loose as well. You can grab front or rear and lift it a half to an inch.

Camrycev6 you mentioned you also miss shift 3rd gear.
I always use to miss 3rd also and the grinding almost made me dribble urine in my pants. What i did was i took it easy for a while, just driving slow and practice letting the revvs drop; as soon as that needle starts to go counter clockwise shift (not powershift) immediately to third. Keep doing this until you can do it really fast and not missing; if you start missing again then that means you shifted too fast. I find with my car if i dont wait for the revvs to drop and just power shift to 3rd there is a good chance i will miss.

good luck

I also think this car is great except the transmission which I think is g*rb*ge (just my 0.2c). Oh well, next year i'm getting a new car cant decide whether to get an SUV (Subaru Tribeca) or an STI; both are about the same price here in canada.

Motor mount, shifter bushings, short shifter and problems are solved. The transmission isn't garbage it's the rubber stock shifting bushings and the weak ass stock rear motor mount.

You've had this car for how long and you already want to get rid of it??
Kind of demoralizing to hear this and I don't even know why you even bothered posting this crap. Just my 2 cents.
(notcool)

Never said i was getting rid of it.
what's wrong with owning 4 cars as long as my driveway can fit them.
Even then, i'm not changing my opinion on the transmission, just scroll back and read how many complaints there are about it.
and not all of us are into modding our cars; Some of us like to keep our cars stock or close to stock so we can keep our waranty.
If your'e one who knows how to remove 3rd party stuff off the car before bringing the car in for waranty then that's good for you; but not all of us
are mechanically handy.

Sorry about that I thought you were trading it in because you thought the transmission was garbage

Must be nice to be able to afford several cars.

Dont get me wrong, i love the car, i clocked more than 30,00km and only owned it for 9 months. Sometimes when i'm off work i drive around and just enjoy the car i'm paying good money for.

The mods that I suggested (Rear motor mount, short shifter w/ bushings) that would improve your shifting aren't hard to install and shouldn't be a problem as far as the warranty is concerned as long as you install them right.

About 18,000 miles in 9 months is a good bit of driving you obviously enjoy the car! And I thought I was putting a lot of miles on mine, 12,000 miles in 8 months here.

I have never had problems with third grinding really. Maybe I am not driving it hard enough? I like the tranny and mine is stock once it gets warmed up it shifts so smooth with my synthetic oil.

Thanks for the info on those mods, i'll keep that in mind; the amount im driving so far, it shouldnt be long until my waranty expires.

I'm thinking about getting the Corksport MMIs myself. Even at only 900 miles, I'm already feeling the thunking or crunching when shifting. I'm not even shifting super fast or anything.

Standing still with the hood up, I can see the motor being displaced by a lot just by revving the engine ever so slightly (around 3000 rpms). I can imagine it rocking like that when just starting off 1st gear from red light or stop sign. NOT a good thing.

I also found that the Aux-in buzzing an annoyance. I bought a $12 (shipping included) 3.5 mm ground-loop isolator from ebay, and it solved that problem right away. Wish I didn't have to buy another part to fix something. Mazda should have included such a noise filter inline on the Aux jack.

Lastly, during the snow storm on Friday, I figure with the top-mount IC scooping air from the front like that, I'd see snow under the hood as well. Well, I was right. :(
