What do u hate about the P5?

Forgot one of my gripes earlier - the moonroof. Above 30MPH, the thing is noisy as all hell. I'll get the deflector soon enough, but in 2003 one should not have to. I've had a couple of other cars w/moonroofs and they had very little wind noise. :wtf:

Still love the moonroof, but I can only tolerate it open in slow traffic.

I love my auto 2003 P5 but it does have some weird groaning noises when in motion. Either I have a high pitched whine when I put my foot on the accelerator, or there is a low moaning sound like wind is catching somewhere in the engine area...Don't know if this is normal but if I took it to the dealership, they probably won't hear it.

I had a weird problem when accelling...kind of a lag or dead spot, modded the intake, problem solved. I figure it was just starving for air.

I would have to say nothing, but the long throws between gears. Fixed that though with the short shift from B&M. It's a little short on the acceleration side. I looked for a new car for two years and drove everything from VW Gti's, Integras, Eclipses, blah, blah, blah. This was the best car for the money including my insurance.

I took out the res so it doesn't suck air in from the tiny little intake (right by your hood latch) and put a K & N drop in filter and shazam. It now sucks air in directly from the engine bay right through a 2.5" hole in the airbox.

hot air or not there is an improvment on performance and in sound! So far it has proved to be better than any intake I have had because you don't lose any low end torque like you would with a CAI.

Did the exact thing, but added a dryer hose to the hole in the airbox and ducted it below the radiator. So no hot air from the radiator gets sucked in.

Thanks andyfatsax, sounds like an easy/quick thing to try out and test drive.

Oh, and not much is wrong with the P5, so far with the exception of the soft mounts and longish throw in the stick, I have not experienced any of the other problems that some of the others complain about.

Actually was reminded of a gripe and only gripe from my wife. When I gassed the car up today on our first road trip to KC today I totally understand her agrivation. The little strap that holds the gas cap to the car is too short and gets in the way when you are trying to put the gas nozzle in the hole. Her observation was, that there is a gas cap holder on the gas door but the cap wont reach. Why you ask, cause the little stap is too short. The cap dangles against the car. I guess I will just cut the stupid plastic strap. But its just strange that they would do this. On the otherside i love the way this car drives on the highway on long trips. Very precise and accurate handeling on the road at high speeds. My wife and I both noticed that you can not take your eyes off of the road at all. The steering is just that precise and accurate. I love this car.

Looks like there's a TSB on it...courtesy of TheMAN:

RE: Things I hate...the only thing really is the paint. My hood and front bumper's starting to look pretty bad :'(

Dont know if this has been said, but i wish the tail glass would pop independantly from the trunk.

Hey Kolashaker, thanks for the link. I'm glad the whining sound may be normal...And...I too wish the back hatch glass opened without the whole hatch opening. It makes such a noise when it closes.

I hate the fact Japan gets all the cooler accessories. And how difficult it is to get everything they got.

Didn't the japanese P5 have a GPS option... ?

if you're driving, you might complain that when you're trying to merge onto an hov lane with an acceleration lane 10' long, you just have to close your eyes and hope for the best...

I would say the license plate bracket. It should have 4 holes. There is no way to put a frame on it without it rattling around.

Yes, I have to still figure out how to put 2 more screws in the bottom, will probably use two clips like what came on my SiR...
