Would welcome opinions of other members.

Overall, love this CX 5, my wife and I both drive CX 5's going back to 2015. Not pleased with the I-Stop feature but will have to get used to pressing the stop function button to disable it every time vehicle is started. Also the Cylinder deactivation doesn't seem to be an issue. I hope Mazda has ironed out any bugs since they started adding CD in 2018.
Congrats on the new CX-5, looks great! Sounds like a solid deal. I have been looking at the different trim levels and noticed that many Preferred window stickers do not indicate cylinder deactivation under the engine specs, unlike the Premium Plus and Carbon Edition's. Have you confirmed through the infotainment settings that your CX-5 has cylinder deactivation? The MPG on the sticker also shows a lower average than on the PP and CE trims, Thanks,

There was a build period when some Preferred trim models were not assembled with CD even though they were designed to have it. I believe there was a parts shortage during a period of assembly at the plant. If you can buy one without CD, snap it up fast!!!

Easy to tell. If the 8th character in the VIN is an "L", it does not have CD. Those with CD have an "M" in the 8th character.

If anyone is lurking and looking for a great deal on a 2025 CX5, one of our dealers in the Northeast just put an offer together with us for 14% off PLUS REBATES on any Machine Gray or Platinum Quartz CX-5 Preferred in stock thru EOM. All other 2025 CX-5s available at a $500 less discount as long as they are in stock. You can see the details in this post:

For example on a Cash Purchase on a $33,500 MSRP you would get $7,190 off the car between the dealer discount, the $2,000 customer cash rebate and $500 Loyalty (assuming you qualify). Using NJ as an example, you would be ~$29,800 out the door with taxes and fees, plus our $499 service fee.

Mazda also has a 2.9% for 72 months special APR offer in lieu of the $2,000 customer cash rebate, not a bad option if you plan on financing!

Yes, it has CD as indicated on window sticker and 8th character of Vin is the letter M.
The date of manufacture as shown on front door jam label is 12/25. probably one of the last batch of model year 2025 made.

Congrats!

Some missing info here so tough to say how good the deal was. You mention paying cash but don't mention the $1,500 customer cash rebate, so either they gave you less than $18k for your CX5 GT or you paid $31,500 and they hid that rebate to make the deal look better in some way. Either way, at $31,500 that's a good deal, at $30,000 that's a phenomenal deal that competes with our offers.

Matt,
You are correct, I did not factor in the $1,500 customer cash. So I did pay $31,500 total OTD.
I will make correction on my original post.

Oh well, I thought I got a super deal, I guess not so much.

I did not want a 26 due to the large touch screen dash display and lack of manual controls for almost everything. I believe it's a safety issue having to look at screen to adjust audio, temp, fan, etc. while driving. Other than that and a price increase, I'm sure the 26 is still a high quality Mazda vehicle.

Just bought a 25 CX-5 S 2 weeks ago today, it just rolled off truck 2 days before.

Sticker was $30,950.. another dealer had exact same car, including color, so I used offers from both to get best price. Drove it home for $28,500 (including tax and title/reg fees and no trade in) after Mazda Cash, dealers discout and military appreciation.

I noticed shortly after Mazda reduced the cash incentive down to $2,000

Has anyone actually looked at the interior of the 26's to see what can actually be controlled off the steering wheel? I've seen a few pictures that show alot of buttons on both sides of the steering wheel but can't see the detail.

I've have an appt. Thursday morning at Mazda dealer so I'll see if they have any 2026's to check out.

here you go. this is the top trim. The lower trims dont have the camera and cruise steering buttons.

Left side is audio, voice control and the modes button for the digital cluster layouts (probably).
right side is cruise controls, distance keep, mi drive (sport, offroad etc) , 360 camera, steering cruise/full lane keep assist.

not sure what Mode is. May be audio mode selection fm/sirius/etc may be that is for the digital cluster layout and the left side button is the audio source...
