What cars did you own before your MSP?

1997 4 Dr Red Cavalier
1997 2 Dr Red Cavalier
1997 2 Dr Red Cavalier Z24
1997 Geo Metro Sedan (Winter Beater)
03.5 MSP

In case anyones wondering why i had 3 red cavs...

1st was a gift for graduating. Then i found out it was a salvaged POS (my parents were lied to). Then isaw the 2 door, and liked it much more, then i realized they had a faster nicer one in stick(z24) so i brought the 2 door in for alarm service and came out with a new car.

Wow... here's the list, in it's Ghetto-fabulous glory:

Growing up in Phoenix:
  • 1986 Toyota Camry Hatchback - White with Blue Interior. Died 2 weeks after my 16th birthday due to being an overall P.O.S., and the transmission died out completely.
  • 1977 Buick LeSabre - Baby blue with matching interior. I purchased this car for $700, and I got what I paid for. V6 (lack of) power, A/C that only blew out the footrests, and suspension that made it feel more like the H.M.S. Land Yacht than a car. But, it got me through 2 years of high school before the steering column fell off, and could hold 6 people and 3 kegs. All in all a decent crap-box for the time.
The College Years:
  • 1980 Volvo 240DL Station Wagon - Gold with Black Interior. Another cheap-ass car, this one was $1200. I bought this to take up to Flagstaff for college, and it lasted me a little over a year. It was comfy, big, and the rear seats folded down which was a major plus. (naughty) This one bit the dust in Phoenix on summer break when the water pump seized, the engine overheated, and the pistons decided to turn to liquid.
  • 1988 Honda Accord DX - Gold with brown interior. I bought this car from a friend of mine for $350. Long story, but we were both drunk and it seemed like a good idea at the time to him. In any case, this car just wouldn't die. Snow, rain, heat and cold, it just kept running and never really gave me too much hassle. I put 60,000 miles on this car in 3 years, and ended up selling it for a profit after moving to California.
California Here I Come:
  • 1986 Toyota 4x4 Pickup - Tan with Tan Interior. I still have this truck, and love it to death. This was left to my by my grandfather, and is still in excellent shape. 22 Years old, and it has just over 110,000 miles on it. Automatic, 4x4, fully loaded for the time. I've driven this truck to hell and back on several occasions, and now that I have a new daily driver, I'm looking forward to working on it a lot more. This is my "In-between" ride - it's always there when I need it, and has been my primary transportation when i'm in-between cars.
  • 1992 Nissan 240SX - Gold with Tan Interior. Aside from driving my parent's cars, this was the first stickshift I actually owned. Bought it 1 mile from Disneyland for $2400, which was an excellent price for the condition. I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this car for 2 years before selling it to a friend. He then put a lot of money into it with suspension, wheels, tires, and other race upgrades, and drove the piss out of it on the track. Now it's with my friend's younger brother, and I'm sure he'll trick it out even more.
  • 1991 Nissan 240SX - Black on Black, with some more black for good measure. I picked this car up shortly after selling the Gold 240, purely by chance. When I bought it, the car had almost no interior, a crap-tacular stereo, steel wheels and bald tires. Again, lots of blood, sweat and tears (and cash) went into this ride, and I had it in awesome condition right up until it was violently taken from me in a freeway accident. (sad1) I still miss this car... I had it so personalized and set up exactly how I wanted it, and BOOM, no more. Ended up selling off the performance parts, put the stock suspension, wheels, and other stuff back on, and sold the wreck to someone who wanted to build a race car.
  • 2003.5 MSP - Titanium on Black, wingless and pristine. Just paid $11,500 from a local dealership, and it's worth every penny IMO. Very minor wear on the outside, perfect inside (hell, the cigarette lighter's never been used!) and I'm stoked on the car as a whole. I'll have some pics up after this weekend, but I think we're all aware of how a stock MSP looks. (2thumbs)
So that's the whole list... there are of course family cars not listed, like the Sentras, 200SX, Mustang, and the 350Z my folks have had, but since I didn't own them myself, they don't count IMO. :)
