what carbon fiber parts would you want for the MSP?

the carbon fiber is in and work has started on a few components.

Sail Panels / Tweeter Covers - mold is ready to go, see info here. PM me if interested.
Rearview Mirror Cover - mold completed, currently being filled and sanded back.
Eyebrows - in production, see thread here. 35 for fiberglass, 75 for CF. wide version in the works.
Spoiler Lip - mold complete, fiberglass tester in the works.

the original question was, what other stuff for your MSP would you want in CF? i'm still looking for input.

i'm not interested in doing anything structural, and nothing too big for exterior, so no hoods, skirts, trunks, etc. id really like to keep away from any stuff DG makes as well.

Umm more like front fenders, canards, rear diffusers, anything that can be unbolted make it in carbon fiber!! Lighter cars means a faster car. Maybe if you could make block offs for the front bumper where the fog lights go like in Subarus deff a radiator shroud and turbo heat shield i could go on for another paragraph but you get the point. We need more performance parts other than the engine bay im tired of seeing umtine million engine build threads on a otherwise stock protege. AND FENDER FLARES DEAR GOD YES.

for the radio bezel - i know DG makes a full replacement. you're looking for just the sides? do those detach after you pop it out?

for the airbag cover - interesting idea. thinking of how it would get molded, there would definitely need to be a few people interested.

The sides do not pop out, it is a complete part of the radio bezel.

all the exterior stuff i'll have to look into. i hadn't really considered doing much on the ext.
heat shields ill have to check on too. the materials should be OK for the heat, i just want to make sure there's no special provisions.

the fog covers would be pretty bitchin, that would get added to the list.

man popular topic apparently. just a reminder - this is just planning stages. i can tell people are excited about putting their $.02 in, but i don't want to be a heartbreaker if i can't afford the gear. keep the ideas coming though

knowing you can't just unscrew them, twist - what are you asking for? a cover for the sides? something to epoxy on if you cut the sides off?

a lip spoiler. just a tiny little bump for the trailing edge of the trunk lid. this I would eat some of the development cost for, as its something I really want.

for the radio bezel, DG used to make 2 pieces that you stuck over the stock sides... so the center silver part was all still exposed, face CF sides were covered with real CF. basically you'd attach with double sided tape, call it a day.

another popular but expensive one would be a dual gauge cluster radio bezel. I don't believe one exists in CF as of yet... and the regular ones sell for 200+... so it would be a high dollar item. This I wouldn't personally be interested in.. but I know there are at least a few ppl that want one.

^ Your joking right. Our doors are heavy have you took them off recently, and the fact we have 4 of them doesn't help. Also maybe a replacement wing that actually attaches to the body or frame and not the deck lid but still keeps with the OEM styling. Also id totally buy a full CF nardi style wheel that would be some pimp sh*t.

Basicly all this like rear fender flares that mold the back doors in, a complete side bumper canard and matching lower lip/ diffuser. btw this is all one pic otherwise i would have just gotten the one i wanted.... super lame.

I would probably say all "Asian" or 'Micro Asia" rice is purer than American... well cause that is where most of it comes from anyway.... We just process the hell out of it more than they do, Lived in the Philippines and they got amazing rice.. OK Carbon Fiber! I'm a plus 1 for canards, truck lip for sure, any interior gauge bezel would be the hotness, plus any interior stock part you could remove and replace with CF.. Baller!(mj)

doors and fender replacements aren't something i can do. something originally made of metal is a huge pain to replace in CF, the majority of it needs special, extremely expensive equipment that only race teams and CF vendors own.

the trunk lip isn't a bad option, i could look into that.

i would maybe looking into doing some sort of flares. maybe.

as for canards - i saw the WRX pic and see the side/front canards you'd like to get... i'm not looking to make that yet, haha. people who are interested in canards should post pics of other ones they're interested in aside from the triangle ones that already exist everywhere.

also i know some people were trying to get a CF downforcer made, whatever happened with that?
