What brand of engine oil do you use for your MSP?

Just wondering what eveyrbody out there was using.
For my first two oil changes I put in a synthetic blend by Quaker State.
My third one, which I just did last week, I switched to a full synthetic: Mobil 1.
And I use OEM mazda filters.

usually use mobile 1 synthetic but recently went to about 3 places and couldn't find any, had to go with valvoline synthetic and used an aftermarket filter.

Mobil 1 and a Fram filter. I use this combination in all my cars. Never had any problems with either. I have the miles to prove it.

The MSP needs full synthetic, not a blend or conventional oil. It comes from the factory with synthetic oil. If cost is a concern, go to WalMart and get their brand on full synthetic, its about $8.00 cheaper than a 5 gallon container of Mobil 1. ( its probably knock off Mobil 1)

With a new long block costing roughly $3400, its not wise to skimp and go the blend route.

switched over to royal purple from pepboys and use ulta purator filter its the best one... i read that somewhere i think it was in a magazine comparsion... I don't remember... cost me 40 dollars for oil, filter and to get it changed

i use wal-marts synthetic blend 10w30 when its acually quaker state with a fram tough-gaurd filter for the extreme heat he have in S.Florida

I use 5w40 full syntetic Bardahl oil
with mazda filter with built-in check valve
to keep the oil primed in the engine
they came from other car but i can't
remember (thought)

Was going to start doing the oil myself soon, noticed a bottle of mobile1 15w50 full synthetic for performance engines...Definately not for the winter but it crossed my mind to try it out for the summer after i do some research on it....if and when i get my car back for the summer :(

My last oil change was at oil lube place, they had Penzoil oil and filter. It was only $12, and included rotation and balance. Hope it doesn't screw things up! (eek2)

Where do you get your material man? (blah)
1. The MSP does not come with Synthetic from the factory.
2. Fram filters have been proven to be s*** (common knowledge at this point).
3. You can use whatever oil you want to, but synthetic is obviously the best option for any vehicle, especially a turbocharged one.
4. Running a blend will not result in him needing a "new long block".

I use any of the big brands full synthetic, right now Valvoline Synpower, 5w30 with the OEM Mazda filter and new ring each change.

I read the manual! Don't you? Read the part where it mentions oil requirements. Fram filters are not s***? I have one car with 199,000 miles on it and another with 191,000. Both were purchased brand new and I always use Fram filters.

What is so special about a Mazda OEM filter? Its made in Australia and no better than any other filter.

Running oil which is not intended for the car will cause damage.

Keep your hot air to yourself, "A"!

mobil 1 + OEM filter (nothing against aftermarkets - just less thought involved)

dino oil degrades really fast in turboed cars. penzoil is nasty.

hate to tell u fram filters are s***... pureone is much better cost 3 dollars more but much better for ur oil and engine...

i think someon did a test of the 3 filters(fram, pureone and seomthingelse) and fram scored like 1/2 as good as the other 2...
