I am looking for a player for my new 2011 MS3.
I like the idea of bluetooth but I am not looking to go the phone route.
I would like to see the songs on the dash menu and be able to use the controls on the steering wheel.
I have been just listening to satilite while its free.
I have a good sized mp3 collection I will be using soon.
Thanks

What do You use?

I use my iPhone in my 3s Sport, and it works great over bluetooth and with the steering wheel controls. Since you don't want to go the phone route, I'd recommend an iPod Touch, which is pretty much the same as the iPhone, except that it doesn't have GPS or phone capabilities - plus, if you get bored with your mp3 collection, you could always use the excellent (and free!) Pandora and Last.fm internet radio apps.

iPod touch is great as the previous guy mentioned. However you would not be able to use Pandora or any streaming internet music unless you're driving in range of an unprotected wifi network. I was using my 3rd gen 64gb iPod touch for about a month, streaming through the cars bluetooth is awesome! I didn't even have to take my iPod out of my pocket, as soon as I turned my car on it would sync up and start playing. Sadly I've since lost my iPod somewhere in the giant snowbanks in my driveway.

The only thing that bugged me about bluethooth with the iPod touch is that the song information is not displayed on the MID of the car. I tried bluetooth streaming with a laptop and that showed the album / artist / song on the MID, but the iPod won't...

I have the 160gb iPod Classic, but I'm not able to use it since it's corrupted. Reason why, uploaded music and it didn't like something. Tried to restore and no go now I'm back to MP3 CDs.

have you tried taking it back to an Apple Store for service? the few times I've had a problem with an Apple product, my local Apple Store has fixed or replaced it for free, even when it was out of warranty.
