I'm kind of new to the tuner life. I don't know much. Just lookin for a few things I can do to increase performance without blowing up my engine. Lol

without blowing up my engine.

This is a Mazdaspeed Protege... That's going to be hard to avoid... I'm just spun a bearing in my third replacement engine. Now, with that being said, I am harder on my car than 99% of the other users here and I drive it like I'm going for some national title or something and spend hours and hours straight on the dragon at 5,500 rpm...

In this order I would recommend the upgrades: SSAFC and wideband, AWR motor mounts (at least front and rear), Exhaust system (even better if you've go turbo-back. ie downpipe) Those items alone will turn the car into a completely different car, but the most important -even for a stock MSP- would be the SSAFC (and wideband!!!).

not to sound like a dick, and normally i wouldn't say this...but this has been discussed for over ten years on this car and there are hundreds of threads related to this. so search.

edit....don't go adding power to the stock engine. your first course of action if your looking for RELIABLE power is to forge it, otherwise enjoy putting rods through the block.

Its not power thats the problem its boost.

I'm curious as to why you list the fluids you use in your car in your signature? Might as well list brake fluid, coolant, and washer fluid...

I've been boosting 10 psi over a year now with a stock block and trans, 130k miles. Yes they can blow up but if you know what you are doing, don't cheap out on the parts that matter and are careful you don't have to worry you can enjoy the car.
