Well northeast, how did it run in the snow?

Mine is still weeks out, so I can't tell how my CX-5 handled the snow. Did you leave it by the side of the road?

I am in Ontario and I drove from St. Catharines (near Niagara Falls) to Toronto on a trip which usually takes 1.5H turned into 4H
Most of the towns and cities I drove through got at least 30CM by the end of the day
We got hammered by the Alberta Clipper that gained strength due to another system which eventually merged with that NE US storm

I have AWD and winter tires and lets just say I've never been more thankful for the combination of those two. It was just carnage along the way with all the stuck vehicles. At one point I was following a tractor trailer (single file) onto an on ramp from Hwy 401 to Hwy 404, Hwy401 had just been ploughed and created a big snow bank blocking the way to Hwy 404... the truck got stuck and I managed to drive around him and pushed through the bank and all the accumulated snow (about 15-20cm at that time) without too much issues. Once I got off the highway and onto the streets with about 20CM of snow it was like the Day After Tomorrow, going too slow meant you might get stuck and giving too much gas will make you fish tail, all the turns I did had to be done with slight drifting just to push through. At each red light I will be the only one moving when the light turns green because even vehicles with winter tires such as a Toyota Venza got stuck due to the deep snow.

I would say anything over 30CM of snow is too much even for the CX-5 because I couldn't get up my drive way into the garage where about 35-40CM of snow accmulated.

Got about 8-10" inches. Did fine for semi-plowed areas. I am used to my old Infiniti with a read 4WD system (auto, 4HI, 4LO) that comes with a locking center diff. So far, I don't regret going to a much less capable AWD system with the CX-5. Though I must admit, the CX-5 even with TCS off is NO WHERE near as fun as my Infiniti in 2WD or even 4WD engaged. The damn thing just won't let loose predictably (even though it rarely does even when I try).

Got about 26" around my area:( Saturday the Gov prohibited all driving except for emergency, vital vehicles. Yesterday went out to survey area, and must say my zeal red puppy showed me a lot of confidence out there.
Another happy buyer! Oh wait...I didn't buy mine - I WON IT!

Will probably stop by dealer to negotiate my deal by next week since I couldn't drive faster than 2nd gear since I felt my front end getting pushed around. Was hoping to wait a little longer but I think I've had it with RWD for winter driving!
