My wife has been driving a 2012 CX-9 Touring with tech for the last year. I have been shopping for my new car for a couple months, and last night, decided on a 2013 CX-9 Touring with tech. Not only was I really happy with the changes they made for 2013, and loved the 2012 to begin with, I was just shocked at how much worse the competition was. The Highlander Limited, despite a higher MSRP, is just not even close to as nice in terms of fit and finish. The Highlander navigation unit looks like a crappy aftermarket install - and when you have the music turned up loud, you can't even hear the navigation instructions. I really liked the tech in the new Hyundai Santa Fe but it doesn't make up all the ground it loses to Mazda in materials quality, versatility, etc. So I bought another CX-9. Can't wait to get it all set up.

I may be closing the deal on a 2013 Mazda CX-9 on Monday. Do you mind sharing what your actual cost was? I'm looking at a 2013 CX-9 Grand Touring with Tech Package, plus remote start, all weather mats, and cargo tray for $39,900 out the door with 0% financing.

Whoa.... 39k is wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaayyy too much for a fully loaded GT. If you pay that you may hold the "highest paid" on this forum. Just sayin.

$39,900 includes tax, tags and everything else dealers try to avoid talking about. Cost before all that is $37,592 (includes installation of remote start). MSRP as equipped is $40,205 (which doesn't include installation cost for items like remote start). So under MSRP after paying all taxes and registration fees.

It easier if you talk about the price before taxes, license etc since that varies from state to state. I was offered $36,000 on a GT w/ tech package, stickered at $39,910. Another $500 off on top of that because of Mazda loyalty bringing it down to 35,500. Taking the 0% financing would have raised the price since it cuts down on the incentive quite a bit. I think it would have been $1000 higher if I took the 0%.

From my experience it seems the Touring with tech package is the best value. I just got a 2013 w/tech package and Homelink for $31,900 + $795 Destination. The only thing the Grand offers that I would want is the seat memory.

I agree strongly that the Touring with tech is the best value, especially for lease. I had been pricing a GT without tech, which has a very similar MSRP, but for lease, the Touring with Tech is far cheaper. Plus I get the Bose stereo and the Nav, which I think I will use.
