Weird Trac control problem

So last night i had to drive from Missouri to Indiana in a light slow to ice mix. About 3 hours into the trip every time i hit the gas the car would cut out and the low traction light would flash on and off. At first i just thought the roads were really slick but i could hit the brakes hard and would not slide. I ended up being forced to drive like 40 mph and could not maintain any speed going up hill because if i even touched the gas at all it would cut out and low trac light flash. Every other car was doing fine at 60 and 70 mph while i was stuck at 40. It also threw a CEL but being xmas i have no way to have it scanned until tomorrow. Anyone else have this issue or have a clue what it might be? Thanks.

Doesn't the car have a sensor at each wheel? Maybe something happened with that?? Clean or something?

I didn't break an axle or anything cause it is driving fine today. I was kinda leaning towards a sensor or something like that. Maybe water got into an electrical connection somewhere. It isn't doing it at all today though.
