ok, i notice this morning that my tire was low @ 8:00 come back to work @ 5:00 to pick up car and tire is flat.
after a hour of desperatly trying to find a nail or screw or whatever i find my problem.
it is leaking behind the lip of the rim where the tire meets the rim?
it leaks o so very slowly, and if i push with all my might i can here the air escaping rather fast??
i shouldnt be able to do that. there is nothing jammed in there, and the wheel is not cracked or warped.
has any body ever experienced this problem before??
the tires have less than 20,000 normal(non abused wear)miles on them.

do you have those chrome wheels on your car?

it more than likely isnt a cracked rim...

im 99% sure your wheel is corroded and i wouldnt be supprised if all 4 were like that..

it happens when air and moisture gets in between the wheel and tire on the bead

yes i still have chrome on.
corrosion huh? can i just dismount tire, clean off wheel and remount?
sound like a good theory. i have had lots of chrome on all my ridez and have never heard of that or had the same problem.
any other theory's?
i just confused on how the bead or seal just goes kapooie.
o ya thanks mazdamp3_18 for entertaining my question!

Take it to your local Tire guy, he can dismount it wire brush it clean, apply some bead sealer remount the tire and your good to go. Reason for the corosion is moisture in the lines of where you fill your tires and a cheap chrom job.......Good luck.

DO NOT LET THEM USE BEAD SEALER...

it will make the corrosion come back faster...

you will never get rid of the corrosion unless you get rid of the wheels..

when chrome peels it leaves a small gap on the wheel that will leak all the time...

the corrosion is actually the aluminum on the wheel breaking down .. it actually starts to eat away at tires too...

many aftermarket chrome wheels and factory chrome wheels corrode BADLY... and FAST...
