If its more like a rattle then it would be similiar to what I have going in my car. I have no mods and get a strong rattle in any gear around 3200 - 3600 rpms. I have to take it in for service but havent yet. Perhaps you have this also and your intake is muffling the sound making it sound more like a hum.
