Weird electrical issues

My car has been in the shop for the last four days while Mazda tries to figure out what's wrong.

I started the car Monday morning as usual. The first thing I notice is that the A/C is blowing hot air. The radio is working but the display isn't. The headlights come on no matter what position the switch is in. The turn signals don't work.

I drove right to the dealer and left the car with them. So far they've replaced a wiring unit or something. That didn't fix it so they ordered a new pod. They're waiting on that to arrive. In the meantime they gave me a rental Toyota Corolla to drive.

I want my speed3 back!

Finally after two weeks I've got my car back. Turned out to be a faulty instrument cluster package.

That's an awfully random thing to suddenly just go wrong for no reason. I'm surprised it took so long to get straightened out. Please tell me the Corolla was a loaner, and not an actual rental? (Or that they paid the rental cost)

That's what I was thinking too. The car has almost 25k miles on it and nothing ever went wrong before.

It took that long for them to figure out the issue and order the parts. Yes, the Toyota was a rental that Mazda paid for.
