WeatherTech Cargo Liner

Can anyone who owns extended WeatherTech cargo liner (the ones that goes to the back of second row seats) comment on the fit, ease of use, etc?

I am deciding between WeatherTech liner and OEM Cargo Tray. I have read the older thread on the forum on the OEM Cargo Tray, and saw the pictures, but I did not see lots of info on the WeatherTech one. I will not be using 3rd row often, maybe once or twice a month, so single piece design of WeatherTech liner seems more attractive - better protection from spills, etc. There are some conflicting reviews on autoanything.com site from CX-9 owners, so I want to make sure before shelling out almost $140.

I bought Weathertech mats for everything but the cargo section. What I like about the OEM mats is that items do not slip/slide much on it due to the type of rubber used. I do not want the items in the crago section moving around.

Have had ours for a year and love it. The fit is perfect. Only small issue is that it must be removed in order to use the 3rd row seats, but we don't use the third row anyway.

Just saw a sample Weather Tech liner in my local auto store. What I noticed is it had a raised edge all around, probably about an inch tall.

Is this how it is made for CX-9? Does it have a raised edge on the tailgate end? If yes, does the edge get in the way when loading/unloading stuff?

From the pictures I found while doing the research, it didn't look like the lip stuck up too high to get in the way. I'll let you know when I get them.

I assume the length allows you to slide the 2nd row seats all the way to the back position, right?

I finally had a chance to open the box and install this. It fits and looks great. Just like the picture on their website. Only thing is it comes with an extra flap on the left rear edge that I assume goes into a cubby on one of the other models? My wife's car is the GT with the Bose subwoofer. I just trimmed it to look like their marketing picture and it's good to go.

I have the middle seats adjusted all the way back and the liner fits perfect. The lip near the rear tailgate is lower and I can't see there being any issues loading cargo. I am happy with my purchase.

Got this a couple weeks ago and the fit and finish is perfect. The raised lip is there to contain spills and other crap that may end up on the mat's surface (otherwise there'd be a collection of schmutz around the edge like on typical floormats). I got the front, middle and cargo area liners and all fit wonderfully.

I ordered a pair of front ones for my Mini Cooper too and they also fit perfectly. I used to have Husky liners in my Jeeps (same type of product, different materials/design) and they were great but are not offered for either the CX9 or the MCS so I went with Weathertech and am impressed.

Got myself one from Autobarn.net, they have a 10% off offer with the free shipping. The fit is perfect, with only exception this extra flap on the left side.

It does annoy me that I have to trim it myself. For the money they charge WeatherTech should have given an option of selecting if you have Bose Audio, and supply a perfect fit, without one size (kind of) fit all approach.

I got the WeatherTech 1st & 2nd row floor liners but not the cargo liner because I need the 3rd row up every now and then. Is the OEM cargo liner a good choice or are there any other similar alternatives?

They are not big but there are small gaps, I'll get a picture of it for you and post it here soon.

In general terms, I love WeatherTech, I have it for my other cars, and for sure I have it for most of the floor in my Mazda CX-9... EXCEPT for the cargo area. I choose OEM for Cargo because is quite practical, you can use any combination of third row without any re-setup or inconvenience. the GAPs between them are not big (not for me) and anyway you can play some with them as you can move the rubber parts pretty easy before you fix them.

In fact, I install them using only the Velcro, I have never used the pins or screws to make it final. So far I have the OEM installed for 9 months, I oad my car with my dogs, with Paint, with Salwater tanks and OEM worked great for me.

Great Pics. Thanks. I'm picking up my GT this weekend and ordered all the mats from the dealer but was unable to find any pics of the rear mat installed. I was going to go with weathertech but after seeing the OE mats I made the right choice for my situation. I want the protection but don't want to giggy anything around.
