Hey, I had a Silver P5 and it was easy to wax, but now I have a Mica Black 3. I have tried waxing it several times, this moring I spent 3 hours TRYING to wax my 3. I was using Maguiars Wax, I tried BOTH paste and liquid wax. Both left a haze, no matter how much I tried to get it off, so I ended up having to take Maguires Paint Cleaner and removing the wax, I was wondering if anyone with MICA BLACK paint can tell me what wax they use and how well it works!!! PLEASE I WANT MY 3 to SHINE!!!!!

i got a mica green 3 and i use maguires nxt wax..........works wonders........nice shine easy to remove

just do a basic car wash whenever it's dirty and get the paint polished once a year. I have Mica Black Mazda 3 as well, and I am telling you it is the worst paint I have ever had on any car, I took it on one highway trip in the rain, no debris or other vehicles on the road, and it scratched soo ******* badly, white scratches all around. It's disgusting. Paint is way tooo thin.

Wierd, cuz I used Meguiar's on my Black Mica 3 hatch last time I waxed. It did leave some residue for a few days, but being in the middle of the summer I think the heat may have gotten rid of the marks b/c there haven't seen any since.

What you're seeing is leftover oils that the paint doesn't want to release....try using Meguires Instant Detailer..spray a generous amount on and buff off...may take several tries.

I have a black Mica protege(a little older i know) but I have used just regular turtle wax on it and it worked out fine.but i don't know

well i am using Maguiars liquid wax.. it works like a charm.
well just be sure that you washd the car throughly and use cloth that is absolutly dry.. (left a streak on my last time when i was using a wet cloth)
basically do ti on a cool day.. i use a square motion rather than circular.. (some guy from the autobody shop told me..) u only go one way and never reverse the direction.. for example.. front to back.. top to bottom.. do the same all the way.. and ti should give you a nice shiny black mica three..
i havnt had much scratchs on my car yet..

and dun wax the black plastic part too.. its a b**** to clean the white marks off those thing.... btw.. i use two separate cloth.. (one of them was from a black magic cloth package.. including interior and glass cloth) i love da black mica after waxing.. its a fuc@ing beaut!!!

My friend shane has black Mica on his P5 and it polishes up geat. How new is the car because you are not supposed to was it for a couple of months after getting it from the factory??

There is no reason not to wash and/or wax your car the day you buy it! Or any day after that.

Yea i heard something like that..they told me its okay to wash it but just use water and a spunge and after a couple of months you could start waxin.....

I'd recommend hand washing, using a clay bar, then waxing/sealing asap. You don't have to wait to wash or wax your car. Factory paint is fully cured in 36 to 48 hours. Plus, chances are it's been a few months since the date the car was painted, assembly, shipped, sat at dealers lot, then taken home by you.

If you're in an accident and have to get anything repainted that's another story. Depending on the paint & process utilized by the body shop you'll need to wait 1-3 months before you can wax/seal to give time for the paint to fully cure.

My black 6 did the same thing. I just let it sit for a few days and rewashed. Always looked amazing afterwards.

The clear coat needs time to cure.

All the time it takes to transport a car, as well as the time it's sitting on the dealer lot before it's sold is plenty enough time for the clearcoat to cure.

Well when the dealer gets the cars they are dirty as s***...inside and out...the dealer cleans the car inside and out....thats the extra 100 to 500 or so dollars on the price tag that just seems to appear. Some dealers call it a clear coat protector or something crazy like that. Well all it is a good hand wax. I told my dealer I didn't want to pay for this but Mazda requires it, so I had no choice.

If anyone that lives in the Colorado Springs area wants to know a great sales person that will not lead you down the wrong path and will tell you every truth you need to know ...pm me. Now the dealership isn't great but this guy is worth it.

Most cars are sprayed with cosmolene from the factory. That's why the glass, paint, and plastic all bead water. I wouldn't mind getting some, but I think it's a carcinogen.

I use Liquid Glass. You can polish the entire car and let dry versus waxing sections only. It's about half the price of zymol and gives a "mirror-like" finish. I was tired zymol's smeary look on the black. Maybe Liquid Glass could make me the poster child...

Nope. The clear coat has cured within a couple days after application by the manufacturer. Now, if you get your car repainted from a paint shop or auto body speicalist that's a different story. Depending on there process and products it will need 1-3 months. This isn't the case though with a new car from the factory regardless of if it is a clear coat or single stage finish.
