water to air intercooler

heres the vid with the fan its actualy on the other side now but at least you can see it here

I'm not too familiar with liquid/air intercoolers. I see the reservoir and the core but why the fans? looks like theres a smic and a fmic also? super cold O2 combo i suppose? could you ditch the fmic and smic and just have the liquid/air?

so I would say that after some time now with this system I would say that either way you go as far as intercoolers is good.
The pros.
-super short routing
-able to drop air temp fast
-able to add ice in order to drop air temps even further.
-fast throttle response.

cons-
-more complicated
-chance of water leaks
-the short piping makes it harder to have a BOV.
-price for auxiliary equipment.
spent over $300+
regular intercooler setup cheap -$200

but would i go back no i do love my setup and once i can tune this car it will definitely pay off i know it will..

heres some pics since i havent posted in a while..

Well I've done a few changes since that last pic. I took the dual bpv out that was garbage for me. It was primeraly a fight for vaccum with the system. What I ended up doing is I tapped the hot pipe and put a fitting that is hooked up to the wastegate. The I had a bpv from a supra that looks like ours but is made of pot metal. I took some advice from the dsm guys and crushed the bpv and now transitions from gears is so smooth. The bpv is holding better boost and it takes more vaccum to open up so no more rpm slamming and the car trying to turn off..

I'm a big fan of liquid to air. Have a custom setup on my 240sx. I want to build one for the MSP, but was wanting to know if anyone knew off the top of their heads what the pipe diameters of the turbo outlet and throttle body are so I don't have to pull my pipes to measure them?

I got 2.5 pipe for the intercooler. The throttle is 2.5 I Belive. Turbo is 2.0

well heres a draw back on my water intercooler system, I got off of work this morning and I broke my pump switch with my knee that sucked. Luckily it was morning so the air was cold but i felt the intercooler and i was pretty warm when i got home. When I replace it today Ill take a pic on how I wired it.
