is it okay to have water seep into the engine bay? its snowing hard right now and well.. i lifted up the hood and like quite a bit of water went into my engine bay is I'm guessing water does leak inside (I have evo style hood).

is it okay?
are there any areas i should be careful bout getting wet?

I would think that if it is just damp it will be fine. If you have a CAI you don't want to SUBMERGE it but if it get wet that is o.k. You have one of those fancy hoods with the vents in it right?

I don't get those man, they just let water right into the engine, how can that be smart?

thanks guys, should i take precautions to put waterproof mat'l around those wires??
as u can see the in the link.. water can get thru but the vents has a gay ass guard which floods then lets water leak in..... i think 80% of the water tho, flows towards the end of the hood and drips there.. is that cool?? if im not mistaken it flows to the back side of the drivers side.

I dunno man...a normal engine bay is designed to get damp, but you are putting a high performance racing hood on a daily drivin car. It is designed to let the engine breath, who knows what an exsesive amount of water could do to your engine?

If I had the money (we know I don't) I would not put a hood like that on my car.

Dude, don't sweet the water, it shouldn't do any damage. I have a 67 Bug with the top of the deck lid open 2 inches and I never had any issues. The coil sits right up top an can be seen clearly if you lok down through the top, so it gets wet all the time with no issues. I've had snow fill up the engine compartment and it still not effect the electrical system.

I sprayed my hood off yesterday while the engine was running and nothing happened, I was using a pressure washer too. Water will go down throught the hood and hit the exhaust and radiator, so nothing there will be effected, just makes sure that if you have some type of filter on the end of you intake pipe that it won't be under one of the openings. I have actually sprayed down my engine and gotten my filter wet and nothing happened. You just don't want to submerge the damn thing though.
