In the owners manual it says not to go through automatic car washes because it will damage the wheel finishes. Will normal car wash that i do myself damage the finish? what do you guys(gals) use

Meguiar's Car Care..........

ALWAYS HANDWASH!!!!! And; you can buy the Meguiar's wash at Auto Zone, or other places. I buy some things at Wal-Mart. I like the Californa Duster and Water Blade, as well.

AGR straps a shammy to his wang, pops a couple of viagras and comences to a washin!
Its called a Tennesse knob job!

mmmmmm yessssss, and it feels so good!!! (k) (k) (k) (k)

Especially since you setup a custom programmed Turbo timer to rev the motor to the tune of Boom Chicky Wow Wow...
Of course that Meguiar's probally burns a bit.
But hey it's all in the name of love.

i think alot of new cars come with that warning due to the lack of inperfections in the paint, that and the fact that its brand new.

Meguires is great stuff. i use a couple of their products on my customers cars but for my own collection and a couple others i use Zaino and suggest you do as well. you'll notice the difference trust me.

Damn it Jecky your spose to say something smartasstastic!
Carefull youll lose that smartyass sheen of yours:D :D :p

I got my car right before winter in Toronto and it has been a brutal one. I couldn't wash my brand new car when it got dirty, so i had no choice but to drive it through the car wash. Touchless of course. But i never had to worry about recking my alumiun wheels because i was on steelies/snow tires. Rub all you want. The car came out clean for the most part, and there is no damages to the paint what so ever. However, I will not, take my car through it again when my RacingHart's on though. Too risky.

took mine through a regular car wash and nothing bad happened
I normaly take it to get washed by a bunch of underpaid day laborers at my nearest had wash and they do a great job too.
I think mazda is just parinoid

on a side note many people have paid for my services. apparently i'm good at waxin dat ass.......errr i mean car. remember, up and down motions are the best. that when they help and rub the base of the car. ooops, no wait thats wax on wax off. not rub on rub one off.

damnit, i get so confused when it comes to this stuff. i never know how much of the white stuff to apply(bj) and if you do it to quick before you know it you'll have yourself quite the mess on your hands, or your rear bumper(back dat ass up)

how's that?

The pollen has been so bad here, and then rain, I'm continually hosing the car down....

Now I have acid rain in the clear coat ...grrr.... I washed it yesterday, and when I was drying it, there were water marks all over the Damn place. I tried to quick detail it, no that didn't work.. I tried to just plain Meguiars High Tech Yellow Carnuba wax it.. no that didn't work either.... And then at 10 o'clock at night I tried Mother's Paste wax... and no, that didn't work either... so I guess I'm screwed, but you can't really tell unless you are looking at the paint at eye level at night shining a light on i.. lol I'm just that anal.

Otherwise, the paint looks brand new w/ that hard ass paste wax I put on there last night...

Don't go thru the car wash... and don't be lazy!

Automatic car washes are BAD!!!
They don't clean well at all!
You can always do it better by hand!
You get to spend time with your car! (A needed must if you love your car!!!)
The spoiler could get damaged by Automatic car washes!
If you really really have to get your car clean in a matter of minutes - try to go to some place that you still wash your car with a pressurized washer. These aren't the greatest either, but still not as bad as the Automatic washers!

Thats da stuff.

Ok my world is now complete a properly "Jacked" comment from
Sir Jecky. I was startin to worry you had gone soft on us....
EEEWWWW....(pukey)

There's love in this room. Can you feel it?
Oh I can feel it.

I used Meguires 3 phares (paint cleaner, polish and wax) this weekend on the Spicy.... oh my god, what that ever shiny!!!!! These are really good product, really worth the money!!! Can't believe how shine it is, just better than the day of delivery!!!!

..... but oh well, I scarificed my right hand and my spine for the shiny car...... took me 3 hours+ to complete the whole thing!!!

:) BUT I NOW LOVE MY MAZDASPEED MORE AND MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if i were to wash my car, would my vinyl decals come off? (no, i am not rice)

Not with a normal washing. Maybe with a pressurized washer. I, personally only wash my by hand (and that is all my cars!).
I would never take it to a car place to get it detailed. They charge way too much for doing not enough. No one could ever clean my baby like I can! Really it doesn't take that long to wash your car off. And look at it this way. If you do wash your car in the same amount of time that an automated car wash does, well you probably would get the same results....
with the exception if you get that wax crap afterwards.....in which case you should be shot for being totally oblivious to anything that is good for your car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Detailing

When I was still in the navy in Florida, I used to have my own little detailing bussiness on the side. I used to experiment new stuff on some officer`s rides, to see by trial and error what worked great.

As far as getting those water/bird s***/bug guts/tree sap stains out of your car`s finish, try using clay magic. That s*** really does work!!!(thumb) I first tried using it on my newly painted 93 Celica All-Trac, and it worked great!! My finish got damaged(thanks to the navy`s smoke stacks from their ships), from ash and seagull crap(yet another benifit of being in the navy). And of course, after just spending 3K for a new paint job w/ 7 clear coats.....I was`nt happy!!(pissed) So.... after trying new things, I decided to give that stuff a try, and it works....or your $ back!! At least that`s what they used to post. You can find this stuff at any auto store.

But as far as using an auto carwash....DON`T!!!! Those spining brushes will scratch-up your finish....and they don`t even do that great of a job!!
