Washed my car again today...

its bug guts/s***

you just need a stronger car wash.

also keeping a coat of wax on the car will make cleaning much easier

Yes the brown spots will feel like they are on top of the paint.

PROPS !!!!!

I have a problem with your statement.
What YOU know to be truth, and the actual truth, in this case is vastly different.
It's the mis-information spread by statments like yours that have no basis in knowledge or experience that cause damage to people's cars. Your response to the statments above only goes to show how completely ignorant you are when it comes to automotive finishes, and that your car completely and utterly hates you because it's automotive finish has probably the look of an orange peel, with the texture of sandpaper.

Another person that assumes. You would be wrong on both counts not that it matters. My finish is flawless, smooth and free of orange peel because I made it that way. Keep assuming and using that silly putty and water.

OK...lets get back to the meat of the matter. No more back and forth on silly putty. Thanks.

OK, so here's a couple pics I snapped just now. Hope this helps.

You have a lot of these? Very hard to tell what it is without touching it. Unless you have a killer micro shot from a DSLR lol. Anyway I would try clay. If it won't budge with car wash or a bug and tar cleaner, it is very unlikely that cleaner wax will do the job. I would think being an external stuck on particle it will come right off with a claybar. A quality cleaner like p21s Total Auto Wash might also do it.

EDIT: Just re-read your original post. So you have been able to get some of them off by scraping? And have you been able to get rid of the stain left beind, and with what? Just trying to get an idea of what you have done to better asses what it is. Sounds like clay will take off the issue, but clay won't remove stains that are etched. So a stronger cleaner will be needed. If that doesn't work it will require some polishing.

Thanks for the tip. I'll probably be looking into each product as it would do me well to have bug/tar remover and especially a claybar. I've got some weaker spots out with vigorous elbow grease using my wash, but some are more stubborn and don't want to lift.

Ok, sounds like you just need a good cleaner. Do you have a Harley Davidson store near you? P21S markets its same products to bikers under the label S100. Costs half the price but is the same stuff. S100 Total Cycle Wash. One of the best citrus (true citrus) cleaners available. pH balanced and safe for the environment. I've also used it as my clay lube when stronger cleaning is needed. May eliminate two birds with one stone for you as well. That method has worked very well for me with tough lime and fence stains. Just have to be patient and careful. Take a look at my clay FAQ thread for use. Pick up Clay Magic from your local autozone or parts store.

The P21S/S100 wheel cleaner rocks too if you need one.

Yea... that looks like either tar or fly s***. No joke... Fly s***. The detail shop I use to rent a bay from use to have cars come in all the time that would have little black specks on them and its actually fly s***. Bug/tar remover should work either way.

It's not bad enough that flies PISS me off, now they try and s*** on me, too.... Worthless pieces of filth. The spots are brown, though. Like a milk chocolate color.

(Dare you to taste one.....)
