Was thinking of the Cobb SRI but...deal killer for me...

I hate the blue hose. Is there any company that offers a hose like that but in black???

unfortunately not.

that hose is fabricated by cobb for the intake, its not a typical thing you would get universally. for another company to make it, they would have to copy cobbs product.

i wonder if there is someway to dye it or recolor it somehow.

but.... it's cobb blue..... what's not to love???

seriously tho.... it grows on you. I used to not like the blue in the engine bay, but now that I've had it for awhile I don't know what I'd do without it. Perhaps ask cobb about a particular type of paint for it (something flexible, able to withstand engine heat, etc)

duct tape gray FTW!! or maybe the chrome silver HVAC tape, lol

I know you meant like heat tape, but still... I was born and raised in WV, old habits die hard... plus they have colored duct tape now too!!

Take off the hose and get some krylon high temp paint and pick ur color and have fun with it.

Get ready for duct tape envy, dude. I found 15" wide duct tape. It has a backing on the sticky side so you can cut it to shape then pull off the backing and stick it where it is needed. I saw it and had to buy a roll. I haven't used it yet, but I have a couple of projects in mind that it is perfect for.

I have to say the blue was a deal killer for me as well.......think I'm gonna go CP-E. It makes better gains anyway....... I DO wish that Cobb would consider more color choices though. I definitely want to be a Cobb customer, after seeing all they've done for the Subies and EVOs...... Anyone heard anything about a Cobb front mount IC kit for our cars? The one on they're shop car is beautiful...

The ATP turbo inlet and the BEGI Air box use black hoses, or go with a polished or black metal intake like mazdaspeed, cp-e or injen or fujita.

Or... wait until cobb releases the cold air box fo their intake, it will cover up most of the blueness I think.

Honestly all the intake systems have similar results, one might be slightly different than others, but its really not much of a difference imho.

I'm with you, I love the way the blue looks personally, it doesn't quite go with the cosmic blue paint job, but most of the engine bay is black and silver, but then BAM! Big fat blue filter! I love it.

I've seen the cobb intake on a black ms3 and a red ms3. On the red ms3 the blue / red combination makes the car look like it has a superman theme going on, and on the black car, it just looks SICK as hell.

I have the blue Cobb intake, luckly it matches all my new Turbo XS couplers. I can see that the blue is an ugly color to add onto the red or blue cars but I can't imagine it being a deal breaker for an intake that is such a great value.

I stick 100% to black/stainless/polished aluminum and hints of red under the hood. I have done it this way for a while on all my cars/trucks. I just read the ATP inlet pipe thread. I think I am going to get that with all black couplers and a BEGI box SRI. That will do good. I ordered my Forge BPV last night in black.
Here is my last motor that I built. 393ci SBF stroker.

I don't think it looks too shabby with a blue car. This was when the intake was brand new, its faded a bit now and stands out less. I like it, but I guess it isn't for everyone.
