that hose is fabricated by cobb for the intake, its not a typical thing you would get universally. for another company to make it, they would have to copy cobbs product.
i wonder if there is someway to dye it or recolor it somehow.
seriously tho.... it grows on you. I used to not like the blue in the engine bay, but now that I've had it for awhile I don't know what I'd do without it. Perhaps ask cobb about a particular type of paint for it (something flexible, able to withstand engine heat, etc)
Get ready for duct tape envy, dude. I found 15" wide duct tape. It has a backing on the sticky side so you can cut it to shape then pull off the backing and stick it where it is needed. I saw it and had to buy a roll. I haven't used it yet, but I have a couple of projects in mind that it is perfect for.
I have to say the blue was a deal killer for me as well.......think I'm gonna go CP-E. It makes better gains anyway....... I DO wish that Cobb would consider more color choices though. I definitely want to be a Cobb customer, after seeing all they've done for the Subies and EVOs...... Anyone heard anything about a Cobb front mount IC kit for our cars? The one on they're shop car is beautiful...
I'm with you, I love the way the blue looks personally, it doesn't quite go with the cosmic blue paint job, but most of the engine bay is black and silver, but then BAM! Big fat blue filter! I love it.
I've seen the cobb intake on a black ms3 and a red ms3. On the red ms3 the blue / red combination makes the car look like it has a superman theme going on, and on the black car, it just looks SICK as hell.
I have the blue Cobb intake, luckly it matches all my new Turbo XS couplers. I can see that the blue is an ugly color to add onto the red or blue cars but I can't imagine it being a deal breaker for an intake that is such a great value.
I stick 100% to black/stainless/polished aluminum and hints of red under the hood. I have done it this way for a while on all my cars/trucks. I just read the ATP inlet pipe thread. I think I am going to get that with all black couplers and a BEGI box SRI. That will do good. I ordered my Forge BPV last night in black.
Here is my last motor that I built. 393ci SBF stroker.
I don't think it looks too shabby with a blue car. This was when the intake was brand new, its faded a bit now and stands out less. I like it, but I guess it isn't for everyone.
