If you are going to get that clunking noise fixed from your car. Make sure they do not use a torche on any part of the sway bar. They used one on mine cause they said the bolt was seized. so they had to heat it up.... well I can see the heat marks on my sway bar now... Now the metal is weak. They will not replace it until it snaps... yeah later on.... bunch of idiots...

Tell them not to use a torche and inspect the car afterwards to see just in case.... it's a bolt it can come off using their air tools....

Now I lose my car for one week while my rims go out for repair and I get some loaner car... dunno what it is yet.. hope it's a p5 at least... the millenia S wouldn't be bad either...

contest it .. go higher up and threaten with a lawyer. My friend has a Type R and they scratched his stock rims putting new tires on and they said they had to because the sidewall of the new tires were too stiff. They said they wouldnt replace them. So he called and told the GM that he was gonna get a lawyer unless they either had the rim refinished and it had to make identically or they had to replace it. They happily refinished it but when he got it back they didnt do the inside of the rim.. So he returned it and they had to finish it. Unless you contest it they wont do crap. all you have to do is push a little and tell them this is a safety concern.

and IF they still balk at it....do you by any chance have a local TV station that has a consumer advocate kind of thing going? where they go out and take care of PROBLEMs for the good press for them and the bad press for the business? We do here...in fact more than one...and they can get all sorts of s*** done....cause the LAST thing the business wants is to show up on the 6 an 10 oclock news being shown as a bunch of assholes.....most business when approached by one of these stations decide it is better to run with their tails between their legs and do what is right, better than getting all the bad press, end up on the news...AND end up doing the right thing anyway.

Just a suggestion.

Ok the thing is this is my third Mazda dealership that I am at... because I just get pissed at them over time and eventually get mad. Now the thing is I did get good service from their people... but it's the mechanic at fault here. I don't want to cause some more s*** there then I actually have to. I mean he can actually forget to tighten one screw or lossen this or that and I will never know till it brakes... I know that is extreme cases but I have been to the dealership alot with this car to get little things fixed. The last thing I need to do is b**** at them and get them all on the defensive side of things and have some mechanics hate me.

This is my baby and I can't always watch what they are doing to her, so I do get scared that they will **** something up, just cause I got them in trouble.

I would try to use the friendly approach at first. Tell them you are uncomfortable driving the car because you know it is unsafe and that the bar is on there for a reason. You drive the car hard because that it what it is made for. Let them know that if it were to brake while you are in a turn and caused you to wreck, the price of the new bar would be nothing compared to what "other" options you would have then.
If they don't agree, then start throwing stuff. They messed up your baby and they don't wanna fix it? Talk to the Manager, then the GM, then get in touch with the owner. And if someone says "He's busy right now" then tell them he needs to change plans, there's an unhappy customer being sent out in an unsound vehicle. Also, as stated above, do it on the showroom floor. Nothing pisses off the sales manager like a pissed customer complaining about how bad the shop is.
No matter what, do not accept no. It can be done politely, but firmly still. I have had good luck getting just what I want by keeping a smile on my face and demanding what I want. When they tell me it can't be done, I politely say, "Ok. I understand in your position you can't do what needs done here. May I speak to your manager so the correct decision can be made?" This often pisses off the person you are talking to, but they know you are right. Also, follow them. If they try to walk around a corner to talk to someone, listen in. They will try to lie (it's happened to me) about the situation to the person before they can get to you. When they come out, before they speak, politely, but firmly tell them the CORRECT story before they can accuse you of being the problem.
Also, try to have times, dates, and name on a piece of paper. That just intimidates the $hit out of them.

Well I am taking my chances. I called Mazda Canada customer service they are setting up a meeting between the regional rep and the manager. I will discuss what will happen with my bar. I have already got lowering springs installed on my last pro and they heated my sway bar also same location. It also snapped not long after.

I took the car in, now they have altered my car, they have changed the original condition of my car, and heating it wasn't something that would fix the problem. Now I want my car back the way it was without the clunking noise or the possibility of that bar snapping.
