Wanted to see 500 WHP Mazdas? HiBoost Mazda 3 makes 496 at 20 psi

This was on 100 octane fuel not C16. The car made around 350 WHP on pump gas at 14 psi of boost. I do have a forged motor, but I went to 300+ whp on stock internals.

restecpah ^^
i guess the ms3 is dead on arrival hehehehahahahhuiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Design stolen from Mazda. ;)

LEts be honest fOhwd didn't have squat till they started copying the mazda designs.

I know but isnt technically the same as the Focus ZX-3 engine....I dont know, just the stupid Duratec name brings back those thoughts.

I don't know about the 3's duratec, but the mazda 6 duratec was designed by porsche. I always think ford when I hear duratec because of the contour and the svt contour.

it's like saying.. "wanted to see a mazda run 11's? we ran 12.09!"

still impressive, but it's a stupid topic imo. good job though. hopefully you'll make 500 next time.

Warp speed full ahead. Destination.. 5th grade.

The 2.5 L and 3.0&nbap;L V6 Duratecs are evolutions of the same design, first used in the 1994 Ford Mondeo. It is a modern aluminum DOHC V6 with a 60 bank angle. The primary engineering input came from Porsche, who were developing a similar V6 before selling the engineering to Ford, and Cosworth, who helped with cylinder head manufacturing.

The 3.0 L Duratec 30 or Mazda AJ was introduced in 1996 as a replacement for the 232 in (3.8 L) Essex V6 in the Taurus/Sable. It has 2967 cc of displacement and produces between 200 and 240 horsepower (150 and 180 kW). The same basic engine is used in the Jaguar S-Type, Lincoln LS, Mazda MPV, Mazda6, Mondeo ST220 and many other Ford vehicles. It is essentially a bored-out (to 88.9 mm) Duratec 25 and is built in Ford's Cleveland, OH #2 plant. A slightly modified version for the Ford Five Hundred entered production at the Cleveland, OH #1 plant in 2004

Both the KL v6 and the Duratec v6 are based off of the same Porsche design which was a take on the winning F1 engine in the TAG/Porsche from the 1980s.

The KL v6 was first, then Ford acquired the engine design from Mazda and put their own spin on it. Mazda was the original owner of the engine technology from Porsche and refined it.

To this day I still don't know if Mazda needed cash or what or how that deal went down but anyway then Cosworth got in on it later on.

From what I have heard/read, Porsche was asked about the design and putting it into a vehicle in the late 80s/early 90s and basically said "We aren't in the business of making V6 motorcars." The Porsche purist execs were still a little annoyed at the popularity of the 944 turbo and 928, both of which tended to outperform their flagship Carrera and costed much less.

-> trannsmision

Look up the autos. ITs the same auto tranny, FN4A-EL. So at least the autos will bolt with up. Now follow my reasoning here, if both engines use the same auto tranny, and the auto and manual engines are the same. There too for the engines should also be swapable between the manuals.

NOw all it needs is a super charger to bring up the lowend, and youd have a beast. Im really impressed at the potnetial of these motors. Nice one Juan.
They have a different bellhousing. Mazda transmission have sometimes the same model number, but does not fit the same engine.
