VTEC Dave stopped waitin', now which car should he get?

yea i have already looked into the swap and saw the dynos....the only issue with the swap is you CANNOT use a sri, it causes the motor to run really really lean...either u use the x-intake or stock intake....mad monkey has had his swap for 22k miles and no issues..he was make 210whp and 185wtorque with his setup.

really i wish the issue with this car was something simple...who knows

Well, if you sell your mods, and take all that money and budget that to possibly fixing the car, that might be a suggestion. Otherwise deal with it until the value levels off a bit.

Dude. Just get a Kia Rio and get it over with. (upbum)

just DRIVE THE CAR TILL IT DIES. no more talk of trading it in or selling it. either get it fixed or drive as is. period!!!!

What is your payment now Dave, with interest rate? You bought a used car with a higher interest rate I am sure. You can PM me if you want.

I was going off in the random thread, should have been here...

Riding out the bad economy works two ways... 1) if you were assuming to have a car payment no matter what then now is the time to buy! Before Obama gets voted in. That could go either way but I would rather kick myself for not waiting before I got stuck with a higher payment. Interest rates and the ability to negotiate with the dealerships is now...

that i will agree with you on. if the bailout goes through next year will have way less rebates and higher interest rates for sure. but i still think he is best just keeping that car and driving it.

Think of it this way everyone... If Dave buys a new car then we dont have to hear about this BULL s*** any more... Seriously, this whole epic situation in non sense and needs to end. Dave, I dont know how you are not on meds by now to handle your anxiety! Buy a new car and eat the higher payment by working a couple extra hours a week.

Holy... You might as well get the STI or MS3, NEW! Then no modding for you as far as engine is concerned, just an intake, BPV and CBE. We dont want this s*** happening again!

Bolt-ons FTW!

The Metro Grey MS3 would be a solid choice for a new car man. It's still hands down the best bang for the buck.

the only thing im concerned with getting a new car and a higher payment and insurance...is paying for school..this was the first year i needed a co signer for my student loans...and half of my subsidized loans are now unsubsidized apparently due to the economy...thats why i wanna wait till spring....by spring ill know what to expect in terms of loans from school and how much money i need to gather..thats why i said its not hurting me to drive the SI but kinda of benificial....on my mazda3 ST atx with s plan and 1200$ a month my payments were 322.75 over 62 months with i belive 6% interest...whatever the mazda promotion was at the time...when i bought the Si my payments went to 359.99 but my insurance dropped 20$ a month.

i want a new MS3...sti is outta question..my insurance quote was 289$ a month LOL

That's totally understandable. You probably still don't have enough credit built up yet to make an effective push to get a loan entirely in your name, and when you do, you're gonna have to put down a decent bit of cash to secure it. One other thing I'd consider is looking into financing it for 72,78, or even 84 mo. Yes, it's a while, but you could do that now and refinance it for 36 mo. down the road when you don't owe as much or are making more money and come out ahead.

Troy Mazda still has a Cosmic Blue MS3 and a Silver GT. You can bet you could get a swinging deal on one right now before they get shipped back over seas to be scrapped. I dont know if I would wait. What if you could get into a MS3 Sport for around the same payment?

The longer loans raise your interest rates considerably.

depends.... I got a 72month loan on the MSP for 3.9%

you a part of any Credit unions? Thats the best place to get a loan. Mine is offering 4.5% on any loan ATM. To early for the WRX tho :(

this is no joke dave. If you could get a MS3 Sport for 21500 + your 18500 neg eq. -14k trade, -5500 you could easily get your payments below 400. They have 0% interest going on... Know anyone with 700+ credit?
