VTEC Dave stopped waitin', now which car should he get?

That is the joke that I am his dad. Same hair line and 18 years between us. I think its funny. Plus, he could use some help in choosing a new car!

Haha I think he secretly wishes you were, then hed want to keep borrowing the ms3. i think he needs more help than you can offer unless just tell him what to buy and dont give him a choice.

Working the trade in intelligently and negotiating the final price of the vehicle... No offense to young people but sometimes and I mean only sometimes being a bit older and stern helps.

ok ok so this is dave's thread about which new car to get. i think he should get a yaris. there like 10k put a turbo on it and call it a day lol

I actually think that Bill going with Dave would be a great thing. That way he's got a voice of reason with him when he's shopping, so he can't make any impulse decisions, and possibly get him a better situation than he might be able to get on his own.

It's worth a try, right?

I read the stock bottom end of the TC can handle over 400whp! But that sounds like motivation for a new money pit!

hmmm....well i had an idea of a k24 block and a k20 head...that setup nets about 220whp to 240whp on a complete stock no bolt ons

this is what Dave should do in reality...keep the car. drive it. put that money in bank. keep paying on that car. it's a good mode of transportation. he just needs to not race or mod it anymore and just use it as a daily driver. now. it should run for a long time. it will still be fun on the fun runs and what not. the vtek does work some of the time still so maybe over time he'll come across what is wrong. but him needlessly buying another car at this point in his life is unneeded and we should reinforce that to him so he doesn't end up in the same situation or worse.

That could be a good idea as long as the stalling problem has been fixed, dave doesnt need vtec anyway since he has to wait so long for it in the first place he should be used to it by now.

Why not take it to a Honda repair place (not a dealer) and get an estimate on repairs? There's a place in Brownstown that might be able to help ya out, he's big on Euro/Japanese cars and is really reasonable.
