Viper SmartStart Questions!

Greetings fellow cx7ers.

Ran a search for this and did not find the answers I was looking for, apologies in advance for double posting.

I'm looking to install a remote starter for my '10 CX7s GT. (I know I should've had it installed when I picked it up last year).
I have become quite comfortable with the fob as an every day carry (fob connected to a d-ring hanging off a belt loop and snug in the pocket).
Inquiries regarding the Mazda OEM remote starter, found out I need to carry a 2nd fob, which is something I would like to avoid.

So comes the Viper SmartStart system with GSM connectivity(VSS3000). Being an Tech/IT geek that I am... I HAVE to get this with my android phone.

Before I pull the trigger, several questions come to mind so I must seek wisdom from fellow club comrades, as I am not well versed in the inner-workings of our CX7 electronics. And details around the advanced key system currently escape me.

Simply put, the VSS install would require a bypass module. Does this directly affect all smart-key/fob features? IE. Engine-immobilizer, lock/unlock/windows down functions on our key fobs? I understand the VSS app on the phone replaces(almost) all functions found on the fob, but I would prefer to have a working fob for redundancy if possible. Also, what else am I sacrificing with the bypass module?
And for those who work at the Mazda garage, does this void anything on the standard/limited warranty with Mazda?

Would the Mazda OEM remote starter require the same bypass module?

Quote from the Bestbuy service totals to $550(+tax) out the door. Which includes the equipment, parts and labor. 1st year for the GSM service is included. $40/year after. I'm sure this cost is not too far from getting the OEM remote starter($400 alone) installed with the local Mazda garage.

Any assistance in helping shed some light on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Ideas and alternative recommendations are welcome.

Thank you all in advance.

Cheers and drive safely. (2thumbs)
