Just ordered one. Not sure which gauge I'll get yet, but I'm considering the Aeroforce. I want to see my boost.

Update, it shipped already. Wow. That's what I'm talking about.

LOL at (hah)ferdball
I could just hear BIlly Maise in the background yelling about how much airflow comes through the vent.

I was on the list, finally got mine in. Can't wait to install in the morning.

OH, and if it's possible, it would really help I think if you Updated your first post to show the the product is done and a link to buy it

Who is Billy Maise? :)

Fantastic fitment. The housing for Defi gauges are slightly beefier than what the pod could accommodate, so I took some sandpaper and lightly worked away a thin layer of the ID of the mount until the gauge just barely fit.

I also get the slight glare in the driver's window near the mirror, but it's not distracting.

fitment and appearance are really good, but i don't think this ventpod is all that well designed. it's inline with the axis of the vent, which angles up and towards the window and makes it hard to see during the day. it should've been molded to angle a bit down and towards the driver. maybe it's not so important for the gauges with needles, but the electronic ones like the interceptor are really difficult to read.

I have no problem reading mine day or night, but the creator already stated in this thread that he tried angling the mount towards the driver, but the result was a whistling sound when the A/C is on.

ahaa, i see, kudos to him for trying to do it right. so you can see yours good Kain? i guess i'm gonna go for a similar setup as yours then and relocate the interceptor to the cig. lighter panel.

Yup, no problem seeing the entire gauge, no matter how I'm driving or time of day. Plus it keeps the A/C vent functional, which is a plus.

As stated earlier in this thread (I don't expect anyone to read it in it's entirety because it's very long), we tried angling the gauge.....it howled/moaned at certain fan speeds. So, we opted for the straight ahead approach.
Strange enough, we just came out with the 2010 Mustang pod, and we were able to angle that pod with no noise issues. It must have something to do with the duct work itself. The new Stang's duct has a "dam" right before the vent which may take this howl out.
FTR, I'm automotive designer by trade (engine design), and normally I'd take offense to a shot at my design skills, but I'll give a pass as you probably didn't read the entire thread. ;)

EDIT: Kain beat me to the punch, so to speak. ;) Thanks Kain!

If you invert the colors on the Interceptor it may make it easier to see in the daytime. I have mine set with red background and black letter readout. I can make it out even when it's very bright out.

i have it set that way most of the time, maybe i'm just blind :) i think if the interceptor is not used as a boost gauge then having it low, near the right hand (ashtray/lighter panel) would be much better for manipulating it while driving.

well, you know, you're never going to get 100% customer satisfaction :) as i said i'm happy you tried to engineer it for best viewing possible; too bad it couldn't be done without the thing whistling.

True. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know about this interceptor gauge when I designed the pod. The design was proved out with an "analog" boost gauge which, at that time, was what I thought most would use it for.

I'd like to get the MS6 pod into production (perhaps soon). That one installs to the center vents above the radio....no chance of glare on the window there. ;)

no chance of designing one for the center vents for the ms3? 52mm gauge might be slightly too big, but 45mm would probably fit nicely.

There's a 45 mm gauge??

Designing them is the easy part. Market demand is the "make or break" contributor to whether they're produced or not. ;) Tooling is not cheap.
