Ventilated seat care question

While I have no experience with my dealer, in general I don't have a lot of confidence. I'm particular and I do a fantastic job cleaning and waxing my cars. No lie. So, I will probably ask them not to touch it. Not even look at it.
Im sure there are dealers that will do a proper detail -yet if you want it done right .......or the way you like it .........DIY ! - Getting every spec of that PDI adhesive takes a good detailer -- usually dealers use an orbital buffer - I stand by on my PDis as I dont want the ( INTERIOR ) plastic shipping laminate peeled of the center display or the dash display or the tray and door veneer

-- I prefer removing it myself - Sometimes they dont use a fully first car rag --- easy to scratch those screens/surfaces -- - I direct them to leave ALL the plastic on the interior of the vehicle -+ seats covered , displays with easy peel off static adhered laminate covers like a new cell phone screen -- I say ONLY remove the exterior shipping plastic from the painted surfaces , wheels ,-and they will pop in the center caps at that point after the car wash ( obviously they will wash the car ) - but I again I always ask that NO interior cleaning etc be done----I will do it --- You can remove all the interior coverings there and do your own final at home in the garage - + you are the first one to sit on the seats- Also i had to get wheel locks because the exact build I wanted was in the pipeline --but I again told them to leave those off -- ( I dont use em anyway ) --BUT theres another reason ---If you have seen the factory wheel install machine --It loads the lug nuts simultaneously- so the lug torque specs are perfectly set -- if you pull one lug --its going to need to be re-checked for all lugs being exactly the same ft-lbs - and its not a factory precision wheel mount which i think for break in is really very important until you rotate the tires -that it remain factory mounted

My guess is you will be there when it comes in and be there for its unloading off the truck- and the mileage should read 2 or 3 --if you get a 1 -- have a cigar !!!! All three CX5s I purchased since 22 had 2 miles on them
- I have the salesperson call ME when the truck rolls in and I get down there asap -- Its only one time - and up to 4 people might drive it including the truck driver , the lot guy , the intake person , the salesperson , the detail person before you get it .....--- Imagine that !! If you are there it can be less-- like 2 and you are there ---
-- I once camped out waiting for the truck with a car purchased in 2001 - I just didnt want anyone getting the itch to run it down to the Gas station.....the LONG WAY and floor it -- as a full tank is included and I ALWAYS ride along on that gas station trip -- They legally can't let you drive it unless the docs are done and its PDI signed off by the tech ... .but you can go with the person fueling the vehicle --on a TURBO I would definitely be there --Engine will be cold on that trip to the gas station and SHOULD BE babied there and back ---NO pre delivery JOY RIDES --
but -- I strongly suggest being in that car on that trip to the gas station and get them to pump in premium- to set the computer for the correct fuel grade as well -- Enjoy

I didn't let them wash my car or drill the license plate holes. I had some of the adhesive lines on my hood. I softened them with a strong degreaser, then removed them with a clay towel.

This is not a thing—the computer simply advances timing as much as it can (within programmed limits) until knock sensors tell it to back off. This is done on an ongoing basis.

I wouldn't worry about the brakes, those ceramic sealants will be scraped off by that kind of physical abrasion almost instantly.

And wheels are one of the best uses for this stuff because they are hard to clean otherwise.

I'm using the Hybrid Solutions Graphene Infused Flex Wax. In fact, because this stuff lasts a long time with such little product, I have had to find other uses for it in order to use it up, including the glass shelving in the refrigerator (a revelation, try it), the glass table top, and the exterior of the fridge and other appliances.
I use it on the rims as well -- but use a rag

But still quite common. I see it all the time over on Reddit. When I picked up my CX-5 last year as soon as I drove it away I could tell they were too high. Yep, all over 45. We got the wife s CX-30 a month later and I specifically told the idiots to check it before we picked it up. Nope. All high. I know different dealers will be sloppier than others but it's sort of extra important on a 5 since it doesn't have a readout in the car and most people won't think to check it themselves, especially 1st time new car buyers.
I have a pressure gauge + bike pump in all my vehicles -- it would be nice to have that psi read --I rented a 20 Highlander that had it and was hooked ---We will see if the 26 Mazda has it on the top trim levels - Toyotas was accurate - as i cross checked it with a pressure gauge - Im not sure how anyone with a decant vehicle depends on beat up gas station pumps if you can find one -- I was driving that Limited 4wd highlander as a test against the CX5 --It had the NA 6 cyl which is gone now --but gas mileage was poor and it was a boat of a vehicle- that didnt handle anywhere close to the CX5 -nor did the 4runner - still fairly nice --at $56K vs $36 for the Mazda ----Mazda won - by $20K --

we were on a trip and getting into the car in the morning --the side in the sun had a +2-3 lb increase over the shade side -- so I left it knowing it was right -It seems most people overlook tire pressure - but we live in summer heat and if the tires get low --they can super heat from drag and anything on the road can cause a blowout/puncture usually at higher speeds

You're overthinking it. I don't think the coated/treated seats are supposed to take conditioner, anyway.
I know for sure the parchment leather seats are conditioned and coated to prevent staining from blue jeans etc -- they clean up easily

Ive worked in MANY different dealers -- not going to say which ones -- and preface this by saying there are GOOD people and GOOD dealers -- However - I do remember that with performance oriented vehicles in particular - keys were available for pretty much anyone to move the cars for lots of reasons -- and I can say -- There were MANY high performance rides that took off for 15 - 20 minutes and came back smoking from the cosmolene coating --which was a clear indication that sucker was driven hard and put away wet - be there when that thing gets off the delivery truck - and stay until you drive away ----bring a wing man and dont take yer eyes off it --Sad to say this kinda negative thing - because a few can give many a bad name -

I just bought one of those digital readouts that you put on the dash with sensors that go on the valves and it seems to work well so far. Ran me 35 bucks on Amazon and seems a pretty good investment for a city car where hazards are everywhere and it's easy to pick up a nail and get a slow leak.

I was considering that after our last exchange - - $35 is pretty dang good -? I didnt look yet but guessing wireless --- you go to each wheel and add a component - then match its location to the wirless brain --hope it runs on batteries which are not on the 5 ?- I just dont want anything that might interfere with the warranty or electronics -- Mazda could do it easily with memory software - ----- Whats the brand I may just get it-- Amazon will take it back no hassles - i rarely return anything --- you were able to easily pair it up ? and---- you do have a sizeable new investment so your sure ..... its not interfering with the other systems ? Camera is getting purchased on same order -- Thanks !!!

Thanks all for the advice and comments. In the past for other vehicles, I have used a clay bar pre-wax. Works great, but a bit of a pain. Hey, you get out what you put in.

Then I switched to Zymöl HD Cleanse. It's a liquid that goes on/off like a liquid wax. Does the decontamination job of a claybar. Much easier process with really great results. Then Zymöl carnuba wax. They make a formula specifically for Japanese paint, but I still have some leftover for dark finishes. It's a little pricey, so I'll just use that. Deep Crystal Blue Mica. Should be fine.
I was driving with my girl today and we were talking about the color of your CX5 in the pipe - the Mica Blue--cx5 pp w/ tan int - and bam we pulled right behind one --?--- we didnt get a good side view as they were gone in 60 seconds after green =Right after I pulled over ready to phone deposit another CX5 #4 .....in TURBO --YES TURBO - would be my first NEW turbo - but allocations for builds for 2025 are satisfied and that color is as well , and couldnt find one thats in the pipeline or any open builds left for 2025--even at full pop +- and I would need to run an ad to see if anyone would sell their allocation - as its the last year for this body -26 is still unknown = but is different -- and no hybrids in my garage -- -- so far I was told they dont know of this occuring as theres little left --so thats that- But that color is fantastic with tan is rare in my area - WE have Rohidum White Met / w parchment int - and 25 has black highlit pipelines on the front and rear seats - quite nice - But Whites good here as a few months are pretty warm - no issue - I just didnt consider that color - Mazda is selling out the 25s before they officially launch pics of the 26 - So it appears that the allocation for 25 is satisfied and thats it my friend --- what you see it what you get while other manufacturers are sitting with up to 2 years of inventory in this class -- Mazda stuck to its guns and still puts in a 6 speed transmission , Torque Converter , Timing Chain 4Wdstsem with Magnetiic lockout that will out last anything --NOT A CVT with a battery driven dual drive parallel system that has more moving parts than a Phineas Fog circus contraption - It why Ive been buying Mazdas for decades and will keep doing so - So they make it easy for guys to convince- their wives to get a CXt5 which gives both sides everything they want -- Sent a pic when you take delivery -- Like to see it new - You seem to be ready to slightly do some long term preventative cosmentic appearance work

Amazon link is https://a.co/d/8tG175p. I did modify the heck out of it and split the readout from the solar cell and printed up some custom mounts for them since I didn't like it stuck right on the windshield. Sensors go on the valves and have caused no issues though they are a tad ugly.

Make sure you check the tire pressure before you drive it away, dealers often don't reset it from the higher shipping pressure.
100%!! Got a new CX-30, all tires are at least 3psi higher than recommended.

Let's get back on topic here folks. Anyone else have any more tips for taking care of the ventilated seats?

3psi is nothing. that can happen from just from the sun hitting the tires
Well the point was that it was accurate - and knowing the pressures were correct the previous day - i would NOT let 3 psi out to balance the tires as they were all correct - the sun just added ,

I just read the back of the turtle wax spray cermamic and it says not to use on tires - or exterior plastic - but pretreated surfaces are ok - i believe they mean the actual tire / the rim is ok - on the exterior plastics / ive been using it on all the lights front/ rear - seems ok - any clue on what they mean by exterior plastics ?

No idea. Usually these products can be used on the entire exterior, theirs included. People don't normally use it on tires, but I wonder if you could use it to increase the durability of a tire dressing.
