Bit of a thread resurrection for me.
The p5 was a fun project and worked out quite favorably when i sold it. Ive had this msp since november of 2008 and its been a fairly easy time. A lot of people have had their share of problems but all ive really done to mine was put gas an oil in it. it hasnt had a lot of attention over the years and now its time to get back into it.
Im lucky enough to have a very clean shell and now ill focus effort onto the go fast bits as money is available.
For now however.... someone stole my stock rims a couple of years ago and it messed me up bad. i coudnt afford to buy a set of wheels and tires to replace them and had to roll my winters well into the summer.. it was actually cheaper to buy a beater mx3 to drive around than buy wheels/tires lol.
that ended up becoming a great flip doubleing my money, and getting me into the two p5s. which ive sine sold/parted and essentially spent no money on. so that saved the msp from the road for almost 2 years.
so in 2013 i had my dif blow up. not the usual shering of the housing. one of the plates in my dif had a melt down. I also had a bad input shaft bearing that grenaded the inner race.. remarkably the gearsets are all perfect... the magnet did its job and saved my trans.
with 130km on the car at that time I wanted to save her by driving the beaters but finances didnt really allow for it and she is back on the road. ticking trans.. but ill get to it.
first major project was to get wheels. i drove to vancouver after the p5 sold and picked up a set of racing harts for $350 cdn. they needed some love and now im finishing that up. these racing harts will be finished in black on the inside, sunbeam gold fx over pure white on the face, and im going to try a chromed silver on the lip to try to mimic hyper silver. the center caps will just get brushed and clear coated probably.
