Can anyone with the U.S. spec decks confirm that Dynamic Stability Control & Traction Control will be available on the 5?

Traction control, but with reservations?

Can anyone with the U.S. spec decks confirm that Dynamic Stability Control & Traction Control will be available on the 5?

Numerous sites seem to confirm availability of traction control for 2010. AOL autos says: "For 2010, stability and traction control have been added as standard equipment to the Mazda5." (autos.aol.com/cars-Mazda-Mazda5-2010/overview). Other sites word it this way: "Electronic traction control via ABS & engine management." Is that some lesser form of traction control?

I recently received this information from two different dealers in my area (St. Paul, MN) in response to an inquiry regarding the many sites that are now listing the 2010 Mazda5 with ESC and traction control. I have noticed all the sites list ESC, but only a few list traction control as well.

From one dealer:

“The reports on Motor Trend's website are accurate: The 2010 Mazda 5s will come standard with Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control, and they will begin showing up on our lot as early as November.”

From another:

“The buzz seems to be that the 2010 Mazda 5 is going to have ESC & Traction Control, but I have not been able to confirm this for sure. Like the publications say, it looks like it is going to happen but no one at the dealership knows for sure. I can let you know as soon as I know.

As far as when they will arrive, production on the 2010 “5” begins the middle of next month. After production begins, we are looking at getting them around 2 & 3 months thereafter.”

I directed these dealers to the following link in my inquiry: http://www.trucktrend.com/2010/99/mazda/mazda5/sport-passenger-minivan/2154/specs.html

I sent an e-mail to Mazda USA to confirm this information, but have not heard back.
This is great news! I am buying!

Traction control on a 160hp motor ... Excuse me ton mention that but if you need a traction control on a Mazda5 it's because you don't know how to drive a car ...

I drive in the snow and i don't need the traction control, if your wheels spin, just be easy on the gaz pedal hehe

the government tells you you need it, so it must be true!
So true... if the O-Jesus admin says you need it, it has to be true, right? (killit)

IMO, traction control and ABS are FOR people that DON'T know how to drive; as a result, we've become reliable and DUMBER drivers. (bike)

I was taught* how to react in snow, rain, sand, and to start in 2nd gear in the rain, etc. Oh well I guess it makes the roads safer for the most part.

People in this country (U.S.) need all the help they can get when it comes to safer driving. I love regulation. Please regulate the phones right out of people's hands. And leave Obama out of this.

To be fair to Obama, wasn't ESC and TC made mandatory during the Bush administration? And now we'll have even more dumb drivers on the roads who think that these technologies are good substitutes for proper winter tires and common sense.

I am personally glad that my '09 Mazda5 doesn't have ESC or TC - I view them as things that I don't need and which may need to be replaced years down the road for a large amount.

yup... obama has nothing to do with the driver nannies!

Okay, okay, you got me on that one,
true it was a many years in the coming
legislative issue that under the Bush
Administration took effect, so my poke
at silly humor was a low blow to the socilist,...
I, I, I mean President. So point taken, or
should I say point provided to me by the
tax payers via the wealth distribution plan.
LOL! (doh) (sun)

Okay okay, j/k Ill stop :)

Thanks, so it is confirmed then:

As a further enhancement for the 2010 model year, all MAZDA5 models, including the Sport trim with five-speed manual transmission, are now equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control System (TCS).

Damn! I could have waited 4 years for these! ;)

Sporty, high-quality dark grey 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels

I bumped into these pics, they show the new wheel color. They look good but still I kind of like the gunmetal ones better (naughty)

Coolmazda5,

Correct, what Mazda sells is a gun metal chrome color PAINTED rims.

Yes, you heard me right, PAINT!

It's not the true (FYI in Japanese language its pronounced: 'mo-bil-e-o bracku') mobilio black. It's sort of the new thing here in Japan, well it's been around a few years, but its newish as far as a manufacture selling it IMO.

Mazda, [/COLOR](HEY FORD LISTEN UP A HOLES!) is JUST trying to give the customer want they want but when Mazda heard how EXPENSIVE TRUE BLACK IS

Mazda opted to go with the PAINTED LOOK A LIKE's

I know Mazda would have paid WAY LESS, but Compared to what I paid for my rims and skins of $3,000 X 4 -- TRUE BLACK CHROME at the 19 inch size is NOT COST EFFECTIVE FOR MAZDA TO SELL IN TRUE BLACK CHROME.

Hard to see, but compare the pics you posted to my rims:

*I've not got a picture that truely captures the look, but this is the best I have so far.*

Hope that helps.
