upgraded my Protege

clutch & flywheel shipment got delayed until wednesday... due to vendor backlog (and orderer not having enough pull w/ the vendor). sucky... pushes off the car completion date by one day.

clutch and flywheel here tomorrow morning 8am! hurray for next day early am overnight shipping for 28lbs of weight. $200+ shipping cost.

everything arrived this morning! dropped off at the dealership, car back tomorrow and then it's 1000 miles (or at least 600) for break in, 500 of which have to be city miles

cool! (thought) bring to the suto x this weekend and break it in!! jk, come by sunday to the show....?

And so it ends!

The RX-8 was sold today to a local buyer, who looks like he will take good care of her.

75,333 miles on the clock as I left to deliver the car this morning.

The night before was spent bleeding the clutch (which had a little air, and was quite a bit nicer after the bleed) and taking off the rear license plate bolts. More like grinding the heads off with a Dremel. The bolts were seized up in the metal nuts, and the nuts were spinning, broken free of their plastic mounts. Took me forever! Was able to pop in plastic license plate bolt holders, purchased from Advance Auto Parts for $2.08 the next morning.

Took some good-bye pictures:

And it was all fun!

If I had to do it all over again, I would go with coilovers instead of springs + shocks. Racing Beat exhaust has been nothing but awesome--what a great note! I'll miss that sound!

Time to shed a tear and raise a glass for her.
