Update on headers

I noticed somebody showed traveler's header earlier. I just wanted to mention for the cali folk that this header is SMOG legal. It does not remove any cats.

yea, I'm going to go with the downpipe and his high-flow cat for my main..I could go with the mid-pipe in CT..since emissions is every 5 years..BUT..im moving to florida soon..I don't even want to mess with it down there..but I should see some nice gains from the bigger piping and the high flow cats..

no emissions or inspection whatsover in this stupid state, the only thing i like about it

Remember, that if it doesn't have a SMOG number, it is NOT SMOG legal. Depending on where you go for your tests, you may not (probably won't) be able to get away with it. I'm glad I don't live there anymore.

i hope you appreciate the fact that i first looked up the county orlando is in (orange), and then further located an inspection station for you...

so i would assume you have emissions testing once you move there

slenser,

I totally know what you're saying. For all intensive purposes it would should only be a visual problem at that point. Shoot, the majority of intake systems out there don't have CARB EO numbers either. But they'll still pass. I was simply trying to point that out as one of the additional, less problematic, advantages to traveler's system as opposed to the conventional "race" type headers otherwise available.

I'm pretty sure that Traveler's header will not have an adverse affect on your exhaust note like that I've heard on the race type.

Technically you're totally right. It just depends on who smogs it for you. With the race header you'd really have to know the smogger. hehe. With this one, you would just need to be a regular customer and pay the normal price.

I been waiting for headers for so long talking to manufacturer's bsing for years on end that I've just given up and will most likely go force induction. Then I'll really be screwed with CARB. lol.

Man i need to buy a place in BFE so I can just register my cars over there and not have to worry about CARB. damn cali.

We should start a forum for finding "shacks" in remote areas with a registerable address. Auctions for like 500 bucks. hehe.

He probably didn't. Wheelguruu is another person who works for Auto RnD. Its possible they both used the same computer and forgot to logout/back in as themselves :).
