Unofficial NA FSDE Quartermile Ladder

Ok, with Rac3rX no longer updating his "fastest NA protege's" thread, I thought I'd revive the list here.

I will maintain the list in the first post. Same rules will apply as in the original thread, time slips not needed up front but may be requested to put down arguments - NA only, FSDE powered vehicles only. Post a little about what you've done to your ride to get it running the times it can run.

We know there are at least 3x 14 second cars out there - but don't be shy on the slower times either....

I'll maintain 5 lists at this stage.

NA FSDE Quickest ET 1/4 mile track:
1. Installsheild - 14.37 @ 97mph
2. twilightprotege - 14.576@ 93.76mph

NA FSDE Best 60":
1. twilightprotege - 2.002
2. NA_Wagon - 2.32

LIST UPDATED 20/01/2007

Note that you're best MPH might not be on your best ET run, so you can appear in the list twice with different information. I'm keeping ET and MPH together (as above), bolding what the list refers to... just so people can keep track of what a given MPH should yield from an ET point of view. I've coloured the first/second/third in gold/silver/bronze.....

woah what did the NA FSDE guy do to get a 14.37
I will have to dig up the threads...they are in the NA section still, just from a couple years ago...basically lowered the rod ratio and lightened the internals considerably...that and increased the compression a good bit...

Those runs where with regular tires and a crappy stock clutch...Once I finally finish the clutch/flywheel...and suspension stuff I have been working on (not that affects the 1/4 mile times much, just had the car apart for some time) I hope to be close to breaking into 13's...it is not very likely without some weight reductions and tire upgrades...but possibly...in either case that isn't the goal anyway, I have never been to concerned about straightline speed...

The car has basically become my second car...I have been getting around in an older 96 protege for now...mostly because I can't find the time to finish everything with the P5...but when it does run it runs great...and it will be on its feet soon enough...

Suspension will help more than you think. stiffer the chassis is overall, the harder you can launch it and keep control.
With a decent hard clutch, and some sticky rubber + weight reductions you should hit the 13's quite easilly given the power you make, especially given you fried the standard clutch in pretty short order....which would have stuffed your run up good and proper

expect some updates....competing on a fully prepped track in 2 weeks (first time i've ever hit one with a full race prep on it...) - taking my new cams, and a nasty side exit open exhaust to the party too, i'm hoping to sink lower into the 15s.....would love to crack a 90 mile too, but i don't think it'll happen..
