Unichip or other tunable chip available?

05 Mazda3s Velocity Red 4-door w/ MT, Spoiler, and Sport Pkg
After getting my car dyno'ed it's clear that unless I get a turbo the best thing I can do for it would be to get a new chip. Does anyone have one/know where they are available or of they even make them for the 3?

Also, this is a separate question but goes with it. How do you get rid of the top speed limiter?
 
No chips available and no easy way to ditch the speed limiter.

We are building the Microtech to work on the Mazda 3. The proto system should be getting fitted on the 29th... we'll see as some development has fallen behind.

mazdfa3forums has a guy who just recently go ahold of an ecm, so now it's a waiting game while he and his group crack it

notice our intake is *plastic*?

yeah, so intake and exhaust manifolds, plus exhaust, plus cai - all are avaiable now and must be replaced

ecm is a ways off

other than that, we'd have to pop the engine interals and/or stick a supercharger (turbo or roots) on it

think i'll wait to do that though, only bolt-ons for the 1st 50k unless i can add a supercharger (roots-type) w/o sacrficing anything
plenty of room behind the engine for w/e

Supercharger is not any safer than a turbo.. unless you are actually referring to the fact that a turbocharger is a supercharger... but most people don't know/understand that...

We have internals available.. I should have packages under 800 bucks with forged rods and pistons. I can get you rods that will mate to stock pistons as well for 380. So that isn't a big issue anymore.

Good luck on that guy trying to crack the ECM for the Mazda... it's been done/tried several times on the Protege's with very little luck. you can get into it, but it's far too complicated and entire front end software has to be done etc...

Our standalone will run about 1200-1300 for the mazda 3 and be full timing and fuel and VVT and VICS control. So not much "missing" by that point. We'll know full details of success or failures by the end of the month obviously.

from what i understand, the internals on the 2.3 are no different between ones with a turbo or not
same engine, mzp just adds a turbo to it
not sure why i would want to crack the seals to put other internals in it unless i planned to go way over stock boost pressure

i LIKE having a warranty, i'm not gonna do anything that i can't undo in an hour or so, if for some reason i have to take it to the dealer for warranty work

While I hear Florida is nice it's a bit of a drive :)

The Mazdaspeed 6 uses TOTALLY different internals for the turboed 2.3L. The Protege's did indeed no have anything more than a turbo on them and they also blow up very easily. I'm sure Mazda will used beefed internals on the mazdaspeed 3 when it comes. So really adding any boost to the motor I recommend some internals. But yeah, if you aren't going to void your warranty just yet it doesn't matter too much.

I won't work on the chip stuff... I'm anti-chipping and flashes. The computer programs are too complex to be done properly and I just don't believe in it. I think piggy's and flashes work just fine, and most people are happy, but they don't meet my standards and it's not something I have time to work on unfortunately!

Sorry... gotta raise the :bs: flag. The only way you could get a stock Mazda3 to 138mph is if you towed it behind a Corvette or something.
The computer shuts it down at 118mph.

hah. nah, my speedo is fine. was out with a lancer rally art, and we were both screaming along at that speed. done it several times in my car.

maybe the mazda3i doesnt have a speedlimiter????i know my buddys 04 civic didnt have one and he could do about 130-140. i know the mazda and civic are different and the mazdas have an electronic cut off but still. we need to hear from more people with the 3i. But if it were someone with a 3s then i would definately call bs cuz ive hit the speedlimiter a few times. (thumb)
 
back to the subject though, are we talkin about a ECU reflash or sumthin of that sort?? If so what kinda differences could we expect to see with sumthin like that? I know we put edge products on trucks here and my buddys 04 turbo diesel chevy SCREAMS now that we installed the edge product. Its a little different because i think those adjust the turbo timer, air fuel ratios, and shift points but its the same basic principal right??
