Unichip and larger injectors thread

mine idles at 14.7 perfectly consistantly.. well around 14.5-15.0

Yeah his did too when the A/C was on. It stays at one AFR say like 14.9 to 15 but let it sit a little the PCM closed loop doesn't agree and makes adjustments. I'm sure if i mess with the idle more I can get it to idle like stock.

Did the place that tune yours add any clamps or drivers?

nope i just plugged in the Unichip (didnt install EBC) and drove it there PIG RICH... we spent about 6 hrs total tuning it to where it is now...

the problem with the Unichip is that you can only pull 50 points max on the load chart and you need to pull about 70-80 in boost but it wont let you.

it cruised fine but topped out my autometer wideband at 10.0AFR when in full out boost

Your car is setup differently somehow b/c I didn't have to pull that much in discreets map. Then again he ran more boost than you are.
Next time, I'll see what the max amount I can adjust is. I remember it being able to do over 50.

so wait... i am confused now. I always thought the unichip was fine with 440s? So now its not? From what i gather from this thread.. when the AC is on, its messed and in boost its messed?!

Custom tuned another one and idle was not an issue on that one. It was a black msp from Houston.

So would it be possible to just send you the Unichip computer and have it tuned without the car actually being there? I'm not sure if that would help even having a list of the mods but I'm just curious.

FYI, my idle with the tune Sam sent me, with the WRX injectors installed, was beautiful. It idled better with that Unichip tune than it idles on the stock tune!

It would be best to have the car here. Not every car is going to have the same exact mods and just a slight difference will throw it off. You would have to have a mod list close to something I already have, but there is no guarantee it will run the same still.

were are the new tuned dyno numbers i would look for your old dyno thread but i'm lazy and it's late lol.

She never got it dyno'd. The map didn't work out because the car is set up different than the map was loaded for. For larger injectors, you really need to bring it to get tuned in person.

Update:
I did put the Unichip on my car with 440s and tuned for it and it ran great with no fuel cut up to 14-15 psi on stock turbo where I just stopped tuning it. It could have gone higher but I didn't bother to keep going any further. Idle was good too.

I know my car has/had no issues prior to this so thats probably a contributing factor to how well the tune went on mine versus others.
