I have a laser blue 03 mazdaspeed protege. I was wanting to get some opinions on how yall think a two tone paint job on my car would look. I was thinking keep the blue on the bottom and from just under the windows and the hood and trunk up do either a pearl white or black, or any other colors anyone thinks will look good. Im up for suggestions! Also I have a carbon fiber hood on there, so should i leave it or paint it with the rest of the two tone? everybody hit me up soon as you can and let me know what yall think!

I'm not big on custom paint. But if you must, make sure they do a exceptional job in order to pull it off. And remember you always get what you pay for.

I'm wanting to do the same thing this summer. I'm going with black for sure. I saw an accord with a black/white combo and it looked awesome.:)

black white

i have a black and white combo and i love it. i get complements everyday. you can combo any colors if you do it right. well i take that back this POS eclipse is red and yellow. reminds me of baseball games and hot dogs. i dunno.

I SEE A LASER BLUE FADING TO SILVER ON TOP AND it looks aweful. I would strongly recomend not doing it. Not on a protege. sorry for the caps

I would say it might be hard to get the blue to contrast well unless it's silver, but still hard to pull it off. White and black always contrast well and will look good on almost any car, even when it's not even done incredibly well. Blue is just a tough color to contrast with. IMO, black just won't cut it.

I agree, i went two tone simply because yellow and black are probably the two best colors to do a two tone. I think according to advertising studies, they are the most visually appealing colors to contrast in your advertising.

I have seen some nice two tones with silver/black, red/black. Never really seen anything with blue though. Do what I did, scour the hot rod sites, those guys are always rocking the two-tone. If you are lucky, you'll find a bunch of cars with the colors you are thinking to look at. I found about 4 cars with yellow/black schemes which kind of helped me make up my mind

Two tone????

YUCK!!! - why would anyone two tone their car??? (lol2)

That looks good. I'm glad I didn't see that before I started my paint project.

Mine is already set into motion so changing would be a pain.

I can't photoshop (don't have it), but I did this in "paint" for my car. I will have a lot more done to it but this was the basic idea and my painter is taking it from there.

I think there are a few others around here that have done the same sort of thing that you rigged up there. I expected you wanted to paint the pillars as well. Going with black along the hood and roof like that would look good IMO.

Like you said Paul, yellow and black are two colors that contrast very well too.
