"TWM Short Shifter" and "[Bent] Shifter Extender" questions

I'll be replacing my noisy stock shifter and was looking at TWM as an option. I'd also like to extend the new shifter knob to bring it closer to my hand (I find my current shifter knob as being too far away). I have two questions:

1 - TWM and custom exhaust fit:

TWM extends further down than the stock shifter. As a result, the exhaust heat shield needs to be lowered to make room for the bottom of the shifter. Will this setup fit, though, with fatter than stock exhaust? I'll be putting a 2.5 inch exhaust on the car soon and I wanted to know if there is anybody out there with TWM SS and 2.5 or wider exhaust who could tell me that the shifter does not go down so far that it's in the way of the exhaust. My biggest concern is that I think my new 4-inch resonator might end up under that heat shield (I don't know if I can fit the one cat and the resonator in front of the heat-shield).

Second last picture in this installation manual shows the shield being lowered with the spacers (This picture was most likely taken with stock exhaust):

2 - Bent Shifter Extender:

I find that the shifter knob is too far away from my hand to reach comfortably (too far forward and down). I can get a shifter extender, which will move the shifter knob up. This will help a bit, but I'd like to also tilt the shifter backwards (towards me). A Bent (backwards) Shifter Extender would do the trick, but I can't find one anywhere.

Anybody know where I could get one?

Here's a picture of one (no longer in production and not for MSP):

1- You can fit and lower the shield w/o problem or the last result would be cutting a ~2in diameter right below shifter off of the shield.

2- Get in touch with TWM if they'll offer a custom one or look up places for custom order or you can always weld it , most muscle cars have shifters like that that with angle so look up online.

If I'm not mistaken the short shifter kit should come with heat shield spacers to drop the heat shield for clearance. I have 2.5 exhaust and mine cleared the heat shield with no problem.

it does. and it cleared my former 3inch exhaust. and now clears my 3 inch dump. plus get the twm shifter bushings. that made the new shifter feel even better on my msp

I just bought a counter weighted shift knob and the shift rod bushings from them a month ago. I'll be installing everything today so we will see how the bushings are. You are correct, the thread pitch is 10x1.25 on OEM and the TWM shifter.
