I got my shift boot at the end of last week.
the reason i wanted one was because of this - http://www.mzspd3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123700260
the extra material of the stock boot, when used in conjunction with the TWM short shifter, allowed the back of the red stitching to rub the mechanism, and eventually wear away, so the threads started to come undone through the outside of the boot.
i did get a replacement from Mazda warranty, but i had to put some protective tape on the threads to protect it.
this TWM boot is real leather, extremely durable, supple, and best of all it's got the back of the threads protected with an extra leather backing. VERY nice piece.
i am thinking i might treat it well with quality leather conditioner to make it ridiculously buttery, but it's pretty supple as it.
installation was a snap, and i now don't have to worry about the boot interfering with anything.
thumbs up to TWM.
