I talked to Corky about this. He stated that they are the same turbos. It's just that whoever assymbles them puts their "stamp" on the turbo like it is theirs. They are all Garrets.
A garrett and tubonetics are well pretty much the same thing. A turbonetics t3 is the same as a garrett t3. Its just that turbonetics builds there turbos to more demanding standards. They are balanced to higher tolerances amongst other things. So the guys that got the turbonetics consider yourself lucky
If I am not mistaken the turbonetics center section uses a different bearing/bushing and on there ballbearing setups they use a different ceramic type of bearing or coating. I am pretty sure but not a 100%
So basically Turbonetics and Garrett are both manufacturers of the same types of turbo the? Somewhat like Energizer/Duracell I guess with batteries. Is there any other manufacturers to watch for or basically is it just best to buy a Turbonetics turbo...and which is more expsensive(quality doesn't always mean more expensive).
The Turbonetics is a Garret turbo just it has closer machining specs that Turbonetics give Garrett when they are made. If I were making a turbo setup I would use a Mitsu turbo although lately for some reaosn I have been drawn to IHI turbos and KKK turbos.
