TurboHoses Intake Tests

Can't we just replace the injen filter with this new one with the "ram air" on it? It would still improve on spool time just with replacing that right?
That setup is currently being used on the ********** Speed, very pleased with it. We cut 7 inches off of the injen and added the TH AirRam Filter which sits just inside the wheel well. It is a SR/CA Intake... Best of both worlds.

Ah cool so if we have an Injen we can just get this and it will replace everything that comes before the MAF right?

You will need a hack saw to make it fit with the injen, it will not bolt on...

We were able to simplify the desgin and bring down our estimated price to about 220.00 +/-.
It will depend on how our final desgin on the heat shield.

So when is this lower priced SRI going to be available?

I would really like to hear a sound clip. I doubt this eliminates the turkey.

I don't have any experience with the turbohoses intake, but I put just a filter on my MAF (instead of the airbox), and I run 9-12 psi, and it definitely sounds like a blow off valve, not a turkey. I definitely turn heads now that I got rid of the airbox.

I'm not going to lie, though- it sounds much more like a BOV at higher than stock boost.

damn no wonder they prolly arent making them looks like im the only one who cares lol

We care, but our local owners have been difficult to get a hold of because they live quite the distance.

Give us a call, we just modeled the intake today and it's going into production in 2 weeks.

Thanks,

We are waiting for it.

Keep up the good work.

My car was the one that was test fitted. The intake looks really great!! I was really impressed. Combined with turbohoses SMIC and hard pipes, this would make some very nice gains. Im getting ready to put my uninstalled MAM FMIC up for sale to get the turbohoses SMIC. I think imma keep it real simple, plus im impressed with the results of there SMIC. I hope to be the first with his new intake, SMIC and hard pipes all together.

Is this SRI available yet?

The most difficult part of this intake was having a custom hose made for the size of the turbo to transition to the size of the MAF. It's a pain to custom tool but we did it.

I'd say 3 weeks and they will be shipping.

Give us a call.

Thanks,

it is stil listed at $395.00 on your site...earlier you estimated that it may only run about $220.00

what is the correct price as of today?

I had all of the same questions everyone else has for turbohoses so i emailed them and this is what they had to say. First are the questions i asked them.

I have a few questions regarding your MSP SRI, I was wondering exactly what is so good about this intake, compared to an injen CAI or the Perrin SRI that makes you be able to sell it for almost 200 dollars more than those two? I am not trying to be rude or anything like that I just really want to know the specs or dyno results or something??? just looking for information as to a reasoning for my extra money to be spent on this. Thanks.
Matt

This is their reply...

From one intake to another, they do the same as far as WOT is concerned.
However, we use our airram technology with a 6" inlet on the filter. which is the difference between our intake and any other intake for the Msp on the market.

Turbohoses AirRam & Velocity Stacks

If you like, you can purchase the intake without the airram and bring down the price a bit.
One thing that most people fail to understand is the volumetric efficiency necessary for peak numbers and the relation of it to the amount of air necessary to supply the given hp number.

All intakes pose a restriction, some more than others. However, when you are competing against aftermarket intakes, the difference is the volume and how it is scavenged into the systems. Our intakes definitely address all areas.

Turbo hoses, have you tested to see if yall SRI will work with some of the competitors FMIC designs i.e. (ION or Highboost). Im assuming that the SRI will work fine with ya'll SMIC upgrade.

I for one would like a SRI and a FMIC on my car one day

If you can supply us a photo, I can take a very educated guess on fitament.
However, if the Injen fits, our should work as well.
