Hi all!

I have a friend that is taking a T4 turbo off of his Lexus to upgrade to a bigger one. I want to know the opinion of getting a used turbo. It has about 40K miles on it. Or should I just buy a new one? I decided it is finally time to start upgrading my car. (nana)

By the time you spend getting everything to fit and get over your headache I would just go and get a flying miata kit http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?dept=35 save you time and maybe your wallet or your engine lol

t4 would take forever to make power on a miata, I would go with something much smaller.
Flyin Miata has been turbocharging miatas since they were created, they are the best when it comes to turbocharging the miata.

It depends on the trim of the compressor wheel.

If you use a 46 trim T4, you would get better efficiency than a 60 trim t3 (a t28 is a t25 with a 60 trim t3 compressor). Granted the increase is only 2% or so but your Aiata would never out grow that compressors flow capabilities. Also, it goes without saying that you can't use a t4 turbine section on a Miata.

t4 on a miata = (no)

the lag would be ridiculous. i agree, go with the flying miata kit.
