Turbo timers?

Does anybody use a turbo timer on their MS6? If so, any recommendations on which one to get? I've heard that they can be a PITA with the keyless entry system (can't lock the car until the timer shuts down the engine). Is there a way to work around this?

So far I've been letting my MS6 idle for 45-60 seconds before shutting it down after hard driving. Is this an ample amount of time to avoid cooking oil and damaging the turbo?

Should I just continue on with manual timing methods, or is the convenience of a turbo timer worth the money?

My buddy (who's really into deisel trucks) says that there's an option available that keeps the oil pump running for a pre-set amount of time instead of having to keep the engine running. Has anybody else heard of this or know if there's one available that works on the MS6? I google'd it but didn't find anything.

our turbos do not require a turbo timer. if you want to run one, fine, but there is no need. the main thing is to let it idle for a while after HARD runs, like don't get off the highway and just shut it off. typically the drive to your driveway is gentle enough to cool it down.

Unfortunately for us and in all other street engines, the oil pump is driven by the engine, so the oil pump can't run without the engine... Now, if you have an exotic or a racing engine with a dry sump system you may have an external electric pump.

Good info guys, thanks! The dealership told me the same thing wannabe (no timer needed), but I can't say that I trust the dealership all that much. They've proved to be sleazy at best so far, so it's good to hear it from somebody that's actually "in the know".

i have a turbo timer becuase i have a 60 trim turbo that someone put on the car before me but is there a way to lock my doors while my greddy tt is running?
