Turbo Oil Change At Independent Repair Shop

It’s a “2021 CX-5 GT Turbo”, do you mind to tell us which country are you in? It seemed very early to have an oil change on a 2021, how many miles or km on your CX-5? What kind of oil and viscosity, and how much oil did you actually put in to your 2.5T?
Canada, 1800Km, Motul 8100 Eco-lite 5W-30, 5L (full jug).

So you’re the one believes to change the factory oil very early. It’s nice in a metric system country so that you can get a bit more oil with 5L (5.28 quarts) jug. The spec says 4.8 L (5.1 US qt, 4.2 Imp qt) on oil capacity for the 2.5T. Some says he put in 5.5 quarts for the 2.5T and the oil level is at the Max mark of the dipstick when checking it the first thing in the morning (cold). Some says 5 quarts make his oil level at Max mark. I wonder what is your oil level (cold) with 5.28 quarts of oil?

Yes, I believe in draining it early, before 2000Km. I have done so on my family's last 9 cars and none of them had any engine issues, burned oil etc. It makes sense to drain early to get the break-in metals out.

5L was 1mm above above the full mark, when checked cold. So 5 quarts would not make it to the full mark. I'd rather be slightly over-filled than under-filled.

And I assume you use OEM 1WPY-14-302 oil filter.

The Motul is also API SP and ILSAC GF-6. I chose it because it is on the thicker side of 30 weight and has a higher HTHS (3.3 @ 150) than most other SP/GF-6 oils. I think that's why the engine runs smoother and quieter with it.

The Idemitsu is also a quality oil, I'm sure it would do well in the Turbo engine.

Motul 8100 ECO-lite 5W-30 is a great oil from France. The reason I mentioned Idemitsu SP / GF-6 5W-30 is because for some reason we can only get Motul 8100 ECO-lite 5W-30 oil with API Service SN certification in the US. In your picture it says SP, but no GF-6 mark.
