turbo mazda mp3?

hey guys, im thinkin about throwin a turbo in my mp3. I dont know a s*** ton about cars but i was just trying to find out what some people recommend when looking for a turbo kit/ what other things i should be considering/ how much $$ im i looking at.

You'll need about $2000 to do it right, and a lot of time researching the forums.

$2000 is like minimum. Easiest and prolly cheapest is to find a stock msp setup

well ya thats what i was thinkin, like a stock setup from a mazda speed protege. but i just dont know enough about cars to know all the different parts i need, or if im getting ripped off. id have to find out who around my area is professional at this stuff. any more suggestions?

fox, what kind of turbo do you have in your mp3?

I have pretty much all stock MSP parts except the intake & intercooler. So stock MSP turbo (GT2554R).

any idea where i can pick up a GT2554R kit? like with everything i need

Right here on the forums is about the only place. You just have to keep your eyes on the FS section and wait for someone to part out their MSP. There's a few different kits floating around there, you just have to search.

Here's one I found that popped up a couple days ago. It's not the stock MSP one, but it will bolt up just fine.

EDIT: Here's another one. Not the full kit, but a few of the essentials at a decent price. Keep in mind you can't use the MSP side mount intercooler without a MSP radiator and A/C condenser.
