Mazda, Protege, ES, w/ MSP Turbo
Ok, I've gotten the MSP turbo setup installed on my car. Only thing is that after it begins to warm up, I get a smoke coming from the front of the engine. It seems to be coming from the exhaust side of the turbo. Does anybody know what may be happening or any ideas of how to elliminate potential problems?

My thought is that the oil is not properly draining out of the turbo. I had a nipple welded to the outside of the oil pan. I believe it's 5/16ths.

Any ideas?

it could be a gasket that's f'd. well i hope you at least put a gasket in between the turbo's exhaust port and the s-pipe

The turbo and the downpipe were already attached when I acquired it, I didn't replace that gasket. I did replace the gasket between the block and the header and the gasket between the downpipe and the and the mid pipe.

How would I test to see if it was that gasket?

i'm not really sure about that...but do check if your oil lines are feeding oil to the turbo and if there is any spillage/seepage near the area.

someone help the man !

I'm almost positive nothing is leaking out of any of the lines. No oil, no coolent. I was looking at them while it was smoking, and no liquids are leaking from the lines. The one thing I was thinking was to jack the car up, start it and see if it still smoked, that would tell me if the oil is backing up into the turbo.
