Turbo Cold Start

I don't know if I'm just imagining s***, but when I start off in the mornings, and the turbo kicks in, the lateral force pushes me back like I'm on a rollercoaster. But after about 10 mins of driving around, I no longer feel any lateral force when it kicks in. I also no longer hear the 'turkey'. Is this just possibly due to the weather around here? Right now it's 71F w/ 78% humidity...
