turbo and car pics

I hate to break it to you, but would have gotten more performance if you just used that money to get a 2.0L swap. (sssh)
actually no....getting a 2.0 swap would run over $3000 without a turbo. (most of the parts needed and hassle it will take is in the FAQs)
And I can assure you he can cream any 2.0l with just the basics of intake, header, exhaust, and cams.

Just saying.

(I had a way longer reply but I deleted it because I didn't want to be a dick.)

good cause what you said made no damn sense ... how is a 2.0 faster than a boosted 1.6 ?

Just wanted to say that a simple turbo kit on a 1.6 with a FMIC intercooler will be much faster than a MSP.

There's no replacement for displacement, look at the tale of the dyno.

1.6L Miata vs 1.8L Miata with same setup.

In the end, while the smaller pistions have the ability to rev faster due to weight, my engine will crush you in topend.
u made it sound like a stock 2.0 will beat a 1.6l turbo .... is that what u were saying ?? i obviously know a boosted 2.0 with the same set up as the bossted 1.6, will be faster than the 1.6

nice.. i really like your car :) (except the spoiler (hand)) good luck with your new turbo (thumb)

I was just saying that the 1.6L is a poor motor to start out with in the first place.

understandable ... but not all of us can afford to buy a new engine and then on top of that fix it up ... like greg said, we have to work with what we got !

u should ... u can get alot more from a different turbo

That's not true at all. The MSP turbo is actually really great for a daily driver situation, I was talking more about a different turbo pipeing setup. I'll take my small, quick to compress turbo over some oversized inefficent setup anyday.

How is the MSP turbo bad, exactly?

i think its a t3 -61 i think (maybe a t3/t4 -62 i cant remeber) has an instant spool with like no turbo lag. Dont be jealous and bash because thier set up is much nicer then yours and then try to make a reason thats not true.
